Do you need a blender?
Today’s blenders pack more performance in a compact footprint than most other small appliances on the market. A blender can puree soups, grind nut butter, chop ingredients, make smoothies, mix batter, whip up salad dressings and, yes, create a craft milkshake. It can even double as a juicer.
Blender Accessories You Need
Whether you’re into smoothies in the morning or fresh salsa for Taco Tuesday, it’s important to start with the right fruit tools. A berry huller or peeler set helps make quick work of prep work. So do high-quality paring knives.
Extra single-serve cups are a must for busy families. Shatter-resistant canisters or food storage containers let you bulk prep ingredients on the weekend for the chaotic mornings ahead. An ample supply of glassware and drinkware is essential, too.
When to Buy a Separate Juicer Machine
With their mega-horsepower motors and precision blades, modern blenders can easily double as juicers. If you need to follow a low-fiber diet, though, a juicer is more effective at separating the fiber and pulp from the liquid. A cold-press juicer, which extracts the liquid without subjecting it to heat or oxygen, helps preserve even more nutrients.
And don’t forget the veggies! Leafy greens such as kale and spinach are trendy for a reason. They add surprisingly little taste in return for a hefty amount of nutrients. If you do notice slight bitterness, add a touch of citrus juice. Lime works particularly well.
