The only cookie cookbook you need

Everything I’ve made from this so far has turned out so freaking good. So worth the money! I love that it has classics, some more interesting flavors, and everything in between. When I’ve made the peanut butter cookies I got multiple compliments saying they were the best they’d ever had. The red wine cherry cheesecake bars converted cheesecake haters. Can’t say enough good things!

Delicious Photos!

Gorgeous book packed from cover to cover with cookie recipes! The photos are stunning and will make you want to bake every recipe in this book! This book includes recipes for classic cookies, brownie variations and novelty cookies/dessert bars. One of the best features is the "Extras" section. where you can learn to create some of the baking essentials such as pie dough, pastry cream and caramel. I can't wait to start baking! So many of these recipes I want to try! This would be a fantastic book to give as a gift for a bridal shower or just because.

So good!

I LOVE cookies. Cookies are kind of my thing, especially at Christmas. So I was very very excited to get the ARC for this recipe book. It was just what I hoped for. Full of beautiful pictures of delicious looking cookies with clearly labeled sections and detailed instructions. This is an excellent recipe book. The only problem was which recipe should I try for this review? This leads to my cookie confession, I am good at making cookies … except for chocolate chip. I have no idea what is going on, I’ve tried so many different recipes, followed instructions to the tee and they all come out bad. So I’ve given up. I only make chocolate chip cookies from the package now. Life it too short to waste time making bad food right? With that in mind, I skipped the chocolate chip recipe and ended up choosing the Lemon cookies. They were soooooo good! Very tasty and full of bright flavor. They didn’t last very long in my cookie loving house. The only caveat I have to the recipes in this book is that they tend to be a little labor intensive. Cook for a few minutes, go in and turn the pan, cook a couple more minutes and tap the pan on the rack, cook a few more minutes and tap again, then they are done. As a person with disabilites, this is more work than I am capable of. The good thing is that skipping those extra steps shouldn’t stop you from making the recipes, but it does change the look of the final product a little. So I can still make these sweet cookies without the extra work if I want. All in all, this cookie book was excellent, and if you are looking to boost your holiday repertoire then look no further. Just in time right?! Song for this book: It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas – Michael Bublé Disclaimer: I received this book free from Netgalley

I Have to Try!

I am not the world's best baker, but I do okay. These treats MAKE me want to better my baking skills. I must admit, I came in expecting only to find Cookie recipes, so I was pleasantly surprised to see such a variety of treats to make. I look forward to getting in the kitchen and baking some goodies (in moderation, of course).

Great Organization!

There are some very interesting recipes in this book! The organization looks really good. I love the large, color photo of each different type of cookie. It makes browsing in search of something new much easier. What really stuck out to me was the approximation of how many cookies each batch would make. I'm an "empty nester" and I don't need to make huge batches of cookies until we get closer to Christmas. So that is a Godsend to me.

Delicious!

I basically want to make every single recipe in this book. Traditional standards to new twists on those classics (chocolate sugar cookies! banana poppy seed cookies!) to totally new ideas (raspberry rye cookies! toasted sesame cookies!). Pan-banging cookies! Bars and cookie sandwiches and everything in between. We're currently working (quickly) through a pan of blondies. I'm not sure what we'll try next but I'm sure it'll be delicious. Torn between the turtle brownies or ginger molasses pan-banging cookies. The recipes are easy to follow, and though I haven't yet attempted the macarons, the tone of the book gives me confidence that I'd at least wind up with something edible - even tasty. A welcome addition to my cookbook shelf. Thanks to the publisher for a NetGalley.

An excellent book for every cookie lover or baker

If you love cookies, sweets, baking in general and cookbooks this is an excellent book to add to your collection. There is a glorious array of recipes included in this book. From everyday to special occasion and novice to challenging, I feel there is something here for every baker. This book features easy to follow instructions and scrumptious looking photos that will have you eager to get in the kitchen just as soon as you can to begin baking. There's a large portion of these recipes that are easily made from pantry staples and some that require some more specialized ingredients that if you are like me, you will not have on hand. In my opinion though, nothing is too outrageous and if it can't be found were you regularly shop there is always the internet. While I have not tried every recipe, some of my very favorite ones have been the Brown Butter Chocolate Chip cookies, the Cinnamon Roll Blondies and the lemon sugar cookies. Also included are some helpful tips, tricks and general info that is sure to help elevate your baking game. This is my independent, impartial review.
