Not his best work
Having an "Oprah's Book Club" endorsement does not make it a worthwhile read. I wonder how many of these excellent reviews were of the "free book" variety and what were the other choices for the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction? As one can assume, I was not impressed with this offering.
