I hadn't written a review on this when we got it because I wanted to see how it held up and then I just forgot. I went online tonight to order another piece to go with the set and saw the review from Annoyed about the platform collapsing and it brought to mind the problem we had with the delivery people. They neglected to bring the center post support for the bed/platform with them and didn't understand what we were talking about when we brought it to their attention. I wonder if that is the problem Annoyed had and didn't realize it. All king size beds should have an additional support in the middle of the platform. Apparently this bed doesn't come with it regularly or they forgot it? If you don't have that extra support in the middle, forget it! It was sagging when they installed it and they didn't see a problem. lol.ughh..We called customer service and they sent someone out the next week to put one in and the bed is great! We have had it over 3 years now, probably more than 4 (I'm guessing 2014 since I can only see my order history to 2015 and can't find it) and have not had a problem. We are two big guys (280 and 250) with a bunch of animals that take up any extra square inch of the bed. We didn't care for the platform style, both of us being tall with back issues, it was difficult to get in and out of that low height, so we added box springs. So with box springs, dogs and cats and over 500 lbs of people, it's going strong still. We bought the set with the long dresser and added a second long dresser (the tall one has less space for the same price) and put the matching bench at the foot of the bed. Everything is holding up good. One little spot we have to wipe down weekly because the animals brush up against it is a little worn on the finish but that's probably because we don't take the best care of the wood regularly, well...ever. The bed frame is holding up strong, the dresser still works great and the bench I bought to use to put my shoes on has made the short animals very happy. lol. One word of advice...okay, two..., if you are a dusting fanatic, get a glass top for the dresser. The natural wood grain has a texture to it. Ours wipes down okay but a friend told me it would drive her crazy. Also, the drawers are not as big as they appear on the dresser. It's not a problem and the lining is a nice touch...and really...are drawers ever big enough when you shop at Macys every month ;-) I'm now thinking to get a twin or full set for the guest bed with the tall dresser to save space and so I can have the extra night stand in our room and maybe getting the desk also for my home office. The bench is a great piece, versatile! Good for the foot of the bed and we can pull it out for extra seating when we have company.
