I received this popcorn maker as a gift and I think it's a great appliance for family movie nights. It's 'nice to get away from the microwave popcorn and use this fun, easy-to-pop popcorn maker. I also really liked the festive design and the dual-purpose dome.
Stopped Working
This product worked okay at first. Then it started having problems, where it would take a really long time to work. Then it died totally, when it was less than a year old. To me that is a waste of money!
Quit working
This popcorn maker worked great at first, then the red lid on top would not stay on. I tried to have it replaced but the manufacturer wouldn't replace it. So we put something heavy on the lid to keep the lid on while it popped popcorn. NOW it died on us less the a year old.
Stopped working
We've always popped our popcorn in a pan on the stove w/ olive oil, but this little machine caught my eye so, I bought as a fun Christmas gift for us based on NO reviews. We have popcorn probably once a week. My son, 3, loved to watched the arm go round and round in anticipation for the kernals to pop! But tonight it stopped working. First, the lid for the bowl never fit. Didn't mind too much as I always transferred my popcorn to a bigger bowl. (The lid fits over the vent once popcorn is done popping to use as a bowl.) It popped well and fast, rarely leaving kernals behind. Clean up very easy, since no added oil was used, just wiped it out and stored it for next time. But for some reason, as we waited and waited for the popcorn to pop, I realized it wasn't hot, no temperature change from being off. It was turning, but no heat. Very saddened, did not last long, back to popping our corn on the stove.
Fun but not all that
I bought this on a whim at my Macys store- Usually I like to compare products... Ive only used this once so maybe I need to get used to it? Pros: Fun to watch Popcorn pop Has on/off button but you need top turn it off when popcorn is all popped Cons: Need to wait for unit to cool completely before making 2nd batch I had a lot of un-popped kernels No guide as to the amount of kernels to use for different yeilds Having to flip over hot unit Larger size than most other poppers takes up a lot of space I will be trying it out one more time but if it doesn't work out I will return and get the Presto Orville Hot Air popper which has good reviews
Great product
We love this popcorn popper !! It really does do everything it says it does. Makes great popcorn. It is amazingly fast, which the kids really like and very easy cleanup for us.
