I just purchased two 28" Bold roller bags. I intended to replace the TravelPro Bold bag I've had for years but mistakenly ordered a larger size. I'm attempting to return one of the 28" for a 25" or maybe two. Waiting on customer service. I love this bag. I travel 200+ days a year and after 7+ years, the main zipper gave out and the rollers were getting noisy. Time to replace it. I had the 25" bags and mistakenly ordered two of the 28" to have in the future. I plan to return one of the bags and get two more of the 25". I'm concerned that I can easily over pack the 28" (50 lbs). Upon retirement, my wife will be accompanying me on trips and we'll need more luggage I travel extensively by air and the 25" bag has exceeded my expectations. The outer straps keep everything together, even if the zipper were to fail. Very secure. Internal and external compartments keep what I need immediately available. I highly recommend this luggage.
Product was purchased to replace a less expensive large suitcase that had wheels much to small to support the weight of the case and contents. I have not had the TravelPro on a trip yet but have done some testing here at home and so far it appears to do exactly what I need.
This has nearly everything one might need for a longer trip. It is lightweight, has high capacity, and the multiple grab points facilitate handling regardless of how it tumbles into the baggage carousel or needs to be hoisted into a storage position. It also appears to be sturdy, but only time will tell. One questionable attribute are the external belts that clip together to presumably relieve some stress on what nonetheless appears to be a secure zipper closing. These straps do not adjust easily, but if not snug they hang limply and seem to invite snagging in a baggage handling system. They also interfere with deployment of the bag's expansion system, and overall strike me as an unwelcome and unnecessary complication to an otherwise good product.
I liked my carry-on and pack so much I have been patiently waiting for the larger suitcase to become available. Have not used yet but will at least twice or more later this year
A great bag at a good price: easy to handle, holds tons of stuff, survived a 10,000+ mile trip overseas and back--in perfect condition, inside and out. THANK YOU!
I haven’t used it yet, but I’m very pleased with its thoughtful design and quality.
Love this beast. The 28' accompanies our 22" in blue and another in green. The wheels are nicely retracted and protected by the body. Outer material is heavy duty. Frame is rigid yet flexible when needed. TravelPro has thought about and solved many issues with lesser quality (and cheaper) bags. Worth the investment! ProTip: but an Apple AirTag in your bag - our smaller TravelPro got routed to wrong airport and was "lost" by airline. Used AirTag to find the bag and it was successfully delivered back home to us!
It's just ok, this is my 5th Travelpro bag. Pros: it is very light when empty, so you can fill it up. Like the front handle in middle of bag, Rolls pretty good. Tall telescopic handle. Easy to spot on carousel. Cons : it's kinda flimsy, I don't think this bag will withstand like my other bags. I bought it in April and it has been on 2 trips so far. It's early June. The sides do not have any support really. Even at the rounded corners. The side strap closures get caught when closing or opening bag, kind of annoying. I really want to love this bag but I just don't see it being worthy 3 yrs down the road. Bought it on sale or would have returned it. Will give it a shot. Box it arrived in was in very bad shape. I will not buy this bag again or really recommend this bag. I usually love Travel pro bags, I can see this bag lasting a year, if that. not much more
