    Classy and comfty shoes
    May 02, 2014

They are classic shoes for work and they are ver comfortable (unlike most dress shoes). The toe cap and bright shine gives them a modern look (I got the maroon/dark burgundy ones).

Nice looking but finish cracks at crease
    Feb 15, 2013

Bought these burgundy Akrons about 10 months ago. Within a days use, they developed wrinkles at the bend of the shoe. My other Bostonian Akrons, a few years older, and black, with more use, don't show the same amount of creasing problem. These burgundy ones crease too much.

    great looking shoe....but....previous reviews.....

bought these bostonians because they look so darn good. if you like high gloss leather, this shoe is for you! classic, timeless style, that works with suit or jeans! they did require break in, but second time wearing they are just fine! i noticed the poor reviews about quality and longevity, which was very surprising to me given the manufacturer. i always use cedar shoe trees after i wear my shoes, and alternate different pairs over several days. consequently i get MUCHO life out of my shoes. i am hoping this practice would ameliorate the longevity issues by other reviewers. nontheless, these high gloss cap toes are beauts...and the price is unbeatable! at this point, i would highly recommend!

The shoe was narrow and gave me blisters. I don't think that 'breaking them in' was the case. Not very happy about this one.

    Excellent shoe for professional men
    Sep 16, 2011

Bostonian has always had a great reputation for timeless styling, quality and value, and the company delivers once again with this great dress shoe which is perfect for the office and every formal setting. Forget the square toe metrosexual shoes that try to pass themselves off as formal (at 4x's the price to boot). If you want to show your boss that you take your job seriously, that you're ready to meet with clients, that you're ready for the next level, no shoe for everyday use will send that message at a better value than this shoe. I have a very nice pair Johnston & Murphy cap toe shoes that I paid twice as much for. I use the J&M shoes for special occasions etc., but the Bostonian Akron is my everyday choice for a professional presentation that doesn't break the bank. Since I wear this shoe everyday, I actually purchased two pair and I alternate day to day so that the each pair gets a full 24 hours to air out. BTW, the shoes will last much longer if you practice this method of alternation. The Akron pairs perfectly with your Hickey Freeman, HS&M, Brooks Brothers, or similar suit. I first discovered and purchased this shoe at a brick & mortar Macy's, and am very happy to find that most of time, Macy's.com has the best price on this shoe - even versus the online shoe websites. Keep this shoe polished for best appearance. One last word: I am happy that one unhappy reviewer posted a picture of the shoe with which he is dissatisfied. The picture he uploaded is not this shoe! As such, his complaints about the quality etc., are inapplicable to the Akron Cap Toe Blucher Oxfords.

Classy, Elegant and a great price
    Apr 21, 2011

I purchased the Bostonian Oxford and am very satisfied with them. After waring them a couple of times the the shoes are broken in and wares very comfortably. Caveat: the color on the sides of the soles tend to chip off. A shoe repair or shoe shine location would be able to fix the problem. Otherwise, I am sure Macy's would exchange them.
