Arm pit tore after 2 hours of wearing

I loved the feel and fit of this dress a lot. However, the sleeve opened up (not a tear, the seam just gave way), where it connects to the shoulder the first day I wore it. It was perfect when I put it on, but shortly after arriving at work, I saw a the huge hole: From the top of my shoulder, all the way down to my arm pit. I had to go to the drugstore for an emergency sewing kit. The dress is not too tight, it's just a manufacturing/quality control defect.

The fit was perfect and the material was substantial and comfortable.
