False advertising

I ordered this cologne thinking that I was gonna get a free gift but as soon as I ordered it, I got a email saying that my free gift was unavailable and then I was not gonna be charged for it.. how do you be charged for a free gift if it’s a free gift.. Macy they should have provided me with something else if the free gift was not available. I am highly disappointed and thinking about taking my business elsewhere.
