It is SO hard to find sunscreen that can be used around the eyes. Clinique keeps this one a secret, for some reason. Salespeople don't know it and it doesn't come up in online searches easily. But it should -- it's terrific. I give it to friends and have my tween daughter using it. I use it under and around my eye, including the lid, with zero problems. No stinging, no creasing ... and great sun protection for daily use. Cannot recommend this enough!
I am using this product for many years and will use it again
90% of aging is caused by UVA rays. So even though I tan well and am ethnic, I want to protect my skin from the sun. There are very few eye cremes that have spf. I've tried many of them, and I'm happiest with Clinique's. It doesn't have that yucky sunscreen smell (I'm sensitive to scents; they give me headaches). In fact, it's fragrance free. Yay! And it's lightweight and non-greasy; it absorbs really well. And I LOVE that Clinique uses mineral based sunscreen which is far superior to chemical based sunscreens. Also, I use Clinique's 3 step skin care because Clinique is known for being hypo-allergenic and fragrance free and good for even sensitive skin types. So since the skin around the eye area is one of the most delicate and sensitive areas on the face, Clinique has done a great job of creating a daily eye creme with spf that won't irritate my eyes (I switch between wearing contacts and glasses and I workout a lot and the product doesn't bleed into my eyes). Well done!!! My search for an spf eye creme is over!!! :)
This is my favorite eye cream that I've ever used. I just don't understand why it has been out of stock for months now!! Please bring this product back in stock. I can't live without it! :)
When Clinique offers 'Bonus' time I usually stock up and put the samples received in my travel bag. The SuperDefense eye cream was the last one left in the eye products. I am amazed with this product! Please, Clinique, do not discontinue it. This product WORKS. I saw an improvement the very first day of use. I came on line to order it to find you are out of stock!
"Baking" - a fairly recent makeup technique to produce a picture-perfect skin texture - is new to me. While I bought this SPF 20 product to prevent dark spots in the delicate areas under my eyes, I also found it has all the ideal properties for baking under my eyes - slight tint and a brightening finish, and enough moisture to prevent powder from accentuating lines around my eyes. Win-win!
I have tried so many so called "non irritating" eye area sunscreens. Either they are chemical based and absolutely burn, or they are mineral and leave the chalkiness behind. This has a barely-there tint, that very subtly brightens dark circles underneath. You need a microscopic amount of this product. Don't try to smear it as it's quite thick. Put a tiny squirt in your palm, then dab it on gently with your middle finger, a little at a time...underneath eyes, crow's feet, underneath brow, and YES - even on eyelids. I promise. NO BURNING. NOTE that when you first apply it, it appears like you put grey eye shadow all around your eye. If you are a guy, or you do not wear makeup, it will freak you out, but WAIT!!!! You'll look ghastly for about 5 minutes, then it absorbs and blends in on it's own. Just leave it alone and check it a few minutes later. If there are still any remaining areas that look pale, just use your middle finger to gently tap your skin to blend it in further. By the time you leave your home 15+ minutes later, you won't even know you applied anything, it continues the disappearing act. Don't expect it to work throughout sweaty exercise in the heat - mineral sunscreens need to be re-applied often in wet conditions. But for general SPF protection during the day, this stuff is genius.
I was looking for an eye cream with SPF in it... I had been purchasing a salon-brand "D" that cost a lot more and had SPF 15. Even though I was content it, I wanted to try something else for comparison. After searching online, this one by Clinique came up with good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. It is VERY moisturizing and somewhat heavy, but my eye area absorbs it nicely and it does NOT migrate into my eyes, which is a plus! (I apply it by patting it underneath my eyes with my two ring fingertips). In comparison to D-brand, this one is more moisturizing, a bit heavier, and stays put better. Also, this one has no tint at all. It does go on somewhat whitish, but I think it's because of the SPF. I don't mind because I feel like it may be brightening that area which is a plus. I recommend it!
