finish rubs off

I actually bought this beautiful soap dispenser for a remodeled kitchen. I purchased other Paradigm products for my bathroom and love them. However, on this dispenser, the bronze finish quickly dissolved on the center part of the pump, revealing chrome underneath. Now two-tone, it looks tacky and is going back. Darn, I really liked it!
