Nice and Toasty

I've been on the hunt for a winter coat. I live in warm weather climate, so I don't need a true winter coat, but with a few trips scheduled in cold weather climates, I needed a coat. I found this one and with the style and price, it was too good to pass up. I wore this coat while in Chicago - low to mid 30s - wearing only a tank top, thermal and a blouse and I was nice and toasty! I'm 5'2" and wear a size 12/Large. I bought a large and it fits PERFECTLY! Pros: Everything Con: None Great buy!

Couldn't get past the fur

This is just an OK jacket. But the fur looks so ratty that I am returning the jacket. The fur is embarrassingly bad, I was surprised to see it on a Columbia jacket. Also, the front zipper stops an inch or two short of your neck, so if you want to stop drafty winds from blowing down your neck, you have to snap the snaps on the hood. And unfortunately the hood lining is slippery, chilly fabric, not something warm like flannel or fleece. Just not a good design.

Unexpected

The color gets dirty after one use. There are no inside pockets like other Columbia coats I have owned. Doesn't look like picture on website. Warmth quality is good.

columbia sparks lake long jacket

the thermal feature is a plus and does the job since I live in Chicago and winters are brutal. the hood effect is good and what I like also is a full zipper w/buttons and is very stylish. I bought this coat last year in black and loved it so much i reordered it again in a lovely magenta color. Nice to have 2 of a coat style i love and different colors. If I have enough money, I may even buy a third one in the blue color. that's how much i love the coat!
