Won't make dark enough toast

Insufficient color range at the dark end. Toast is always too light necessitating 2 cycles regardless of bread type. Uneven color. Countdown indicator is handy. Build quality is very good.

CPT-435P1

Returned 4-slice toaster since on the right side the "7" selection did not toast completely. Received replacement and same issue but not as bad. Left side great-right side better than first but still not as good as left side. Not happy. Where is the quality control? If you cannot get a toaster to toast correctly, heaven help us.

A GREAT 2 slice pop up Toaster with many features

Great toaster with many good features. I pop in 2 frozen waffles, press the defrost button, push down the lever, and occasionally glance at the countdown display so I know in advance when they will be done. My wife likes a setting of 5 while I like a 6 for a little more crunchy waffle. There isn't a knob to try to set the timer but "+" and "-" keys for accurate re-settings. If the food is too short, the handle can be pulled up to lift them higher. No more burned fingers. If the toasting ends before my eggs are ready., I just press the Reheat button to keep the food warm without toasting more. The toaster also does a great job with Bagels. The slots are quite wide but clamp the food upright for more accurate toasting. No more burnt at the top and untoasted at the bottom.
