EFFY® Tanzanite Hoop Earrings (2-1/5 ct. t.w.) in Sterling Silver

Beautiful stones, unfortunately I found out that the lock on 1 earring was not working: arrived lose, wouldn't click to close, wouldn't even align. The other issue was was the design: the area adjacent to the earlobe is curved and pointed up at almost 90 degree angle. The image on the website doesn't display it properly, you can't tell. When you put an earring on, it sticks out and away from your piercing - not a flattering look. I assume the idea was to cover up stretched elongated from age/wearing heavy earrings piercings, but poor execution. For someone with stretched piercings it would actually draw attention to them. I returned the hoops immediately, didn't like the design and didn't want to take a chance on the faulty locks. I ignored the reviews of other customers, should have listened. Not typical for Effy, they must have made this item on a factory not having worked for them before? I'm puzzled...

These earrings are beautiful, but I agree with other reviewers that the clasp is not ideal: It does not click securely into place. Adjusting the post helps a little, but not enough to feel confident an earring won't be pulled out if snagged on something. Effy knows better and should make these earrings as true snap hoops. I reluctantly returned them because I did not want to pay for a warranty to cover poor craftsmanship - or lose an earring.

This earrings were extremely disappointing. They felt like a piece of toy jewelry. The color of the stone was also extremely poor. Lastly, Macys sent the earrings in a clear baggie, they didn't even put the earrings in a box. Very disappointed in Macys with this purchase. I returned immediately, but then Macys took a month to credit my account. I had to call several times to get the credit on my account.

These earrings are gorgeous, well constructed, feminine and great quality. The stones are lovely and the color just draws your attention because they're so different. They're a nice size too, not too large but sized well enough to easily see them. The ear post is also straight vs curved which makes them very comfortable for all day wear. I read the 2 negative reviews and find them misleading. The hoop closure "locks" in place, much like a click. If you force them too far, then you may damage them, but that's not a quality issue that's a wearer's error. I bought these stunning Tanzanite hoops on sale at a fraction of their usual price and am thrilled. I get multiple compliments every time I wear them. Fabulous hoops, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!

As another reviewer stated, the earring closure is defective. I purchased these earrings for my wife and she was very pleased with their size and appearance. The very first time she wore them one was lost, never to be found again. my wife commented that the closure did not seem too secure but she decided to wear them anyways. Out of many pieces of jewelry over many years, this is the first piece of jewelry my wife has ever lost. Hopefully the earrings can be redesigned to offer a better closure.

I would have loved to write a better review but I must be honest - the earring backs did not close properly. My bad for not returning them but I wore them anyway. Of course now one is gone and I'm stuck with the one earring. I really loved them but I won't be buying another pair. If purchasing please check the back closures and don't make the mistake I made.
