I read the reviews after seeing this in a magazine and had high hopes. Once applied I was near frantic to get it off and out of my house. It smells like old hairspray but worse. Bitter sweet synthetic on the paper and my arm.

I have been searching for a rose chypre scent ever since Knowing changed its formulation to remove oak moss (due to European regulations/potential allergies) and this was suggested to me. It is a lovely fragrance, but a bit too "powdery" smelling to my nose--sort of like grandma's scented talc. I'm still looking for something sexy and seductive like the vintage Knowing.

This is certainly a unique fragrance. It has fresh tones of peach skin and green, warm cinnamon-like spice and contrasting woody elements. It is elegant, and I feel, could be worn by a woman but also has the depth to be a man's fragrance. At first it smells like something that only your grandmother would wear, but when it dries down has a nice natural and warm smell to it. It's been around since 1919, so Guerlain can't be wrong! Apparently, Jean Harlowe enjoyed this fragrance, and Charlie Chaplin doused his linens with it.
