I love this tea kettle, I got it in yellow. It is true to color and looks great in my mid-century yellow tiled kitchen. I've had it over a year, leave it on the stove all the time, and it hasn't oxidized or pitted. I tend to beat up my kitchenware too. The whistle is pretty quiet, which would be my one criticism. I tend to forget about the stove when I leave the kitchen, but if stay nearby I can hear it just fine. You do have to make sure the lid is fully sealed after you refill it, otherwise it won't fully whistle. If I pick up the kettle just as it begins to whistle, I find that the handle isn't hot at all, and neither is the spout cover. The only time I felt it was too hot to handle was when I forgot and left it boiling for a while. If you are used to classic or vintage kettles, you probably use a potholder anyway. I absolutely love that it has all metal parts. The size is very utilitarian. I had doubts when I read the reviews, but it is a perfect kettle for me.
