I purchased this slow cooker after it received a "highly recommend" from Cook's Illustrated. I have had it three years and use it about once a month. For the past year the blue digital time display only showed 2/3 of the lines that form the numbers and the unit would automatically turn off before the timer was finished. It would not even switch to the warm mode. When I plugged it in today it was totally dead. I tried several different power outlets and it does not turn on at all. So disappointed. For the price and Kitchen Aid label this product should last longer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace my slow cooker (Rival) which cooked too fast . After a few hours everything would boil. This slow cooker cooks food to perfection. Everything comes out perfect. I would never buy anything but Kitchen Aid again!!
We barely started into our second year with this slow cooker, when it failed to power up. Consumer Reports and other sites have it high marks for reliability, among other things, so quite disappointed to have it fail so quickly. All other features are fine, but disappointed to be replacing it already.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the three settings, but the next time I cook beef short ribs will use the medium setting, instead of the lie setting.
I received this for Christmas...it was on my list! So excited to add another KitchenAid appliance to my collection. Sadly, this slowcooker is a HUGE disappointment. I am 59 yrs old, and have never had tough meat from a slowcooker....until now. 5 failed attempts! It was not the cut of meat either. I've come to the conclusion it's definitely the slowcooker.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this slow cooker as a gift for my daughter. She love it and uses it regularly.
My husband and I received this as a wedding gift over 4 years ago and it is still working perfectly. We use it at least once a week for dinner and dessert (slow cooker cobbler is so good). I love how the "keep warm" setting automatically kicks in once the time you set has passed. It is a great "set it and forget it" and I would recommend it to everyone I know who loves to cook.
Just received my slow cooker; after 6 hours on medium, my soup was lukewarm and undercooked. Upon closer examination, the lid is too small, resulting in a gap rather than a sealed unit. Very disappointed.
