I'm glad I decided to buy this rice cooker. It's looks great and the best I've ever own. I'm tired of buying the much less expensive brand for what I have to replace it every year. It cooks rice perfectly everytime and keeps it warm for 3-4 hours not burning the bottom. The condesation is not a big problem for me, most rice cookers have that anyway. This one has a collector cup for steam water and it does not drip on the counter which I like. Also I can slow cook cocktail meatballs for the potluck or slow cook Adobo (set time and forget it). We also steam vegetables or make steamed buns ect. The food taste great everytime. I can't say enough good things about this rice cooker, just LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!
This rice cooker makes cooking dinner so easy and so YUMMY that my kids go crazy for anything I cook. Last night I threw some wild rice, water, organic carrots and potatoes in the rice cooker and when it beeped, everything was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. My three year old said that I was the "best cooker ever" but I have to thank this amazing tool! I came on this site to buy another one at this amazing price for my sister for christmas!!!
I am Asian, so rice is a part of my meals. After searching, comparing reviews and price, I decided to go with Krups. I want to be able to cook the rice and have it kept warm for quite a while (or at least few hours). Overall, the rice cooker works fine. It does the job as it should. Pros: - Rice comes out perfect. Automatically turn to Keep Warm mode when done. Have delayed cooking. - Has steaming function, especially helpful. - Large capacity. While I only cook for myself and sometimes another one, I enjoy the large capacity. - Easy cleaning with the non stick bowl - Look really good on your counter Cons: - After the rice is done, the steam water that is on the fixing axis of the steam shield when you open it is kind of annoying. My old rice cooker does have a condensation collector, and even it doesn't produce that much steam water. - Keep Warm function is not very impressive. After about 1 hour on Keep Warm mode, the rice gets hard and burns a little at the bottom. In this matter, other made-in-Korea-or-China rice cookers that you can buy at any Asian markets are better. - Steaming is a little slower than normal, but that's fine with me - Remember to clean all the parts that need to be cleaned (the condensation collector, the bowl-of course, the fixing axis of the steam shield)! Since I bought this rice cooker because of its Keep Warm function and Steaming function, I am debating whether or not to keep it. The rice cooker seems to be very durable and high quality though. If your intention is not to cook the rice in the morning and have it kept warm until you come home, then I say go for it. There is another version with 5-cup capacity if you want a smaller one.
I love how large this rice maker is. Every time I've used this the rice has always turned out perfect. It beats cooking rice on the stove top where you have to watch it and worry about burning if you forget about it. I have also used this to steam vegetables and loved how easy and convenient it is.
