As an avid cook, I’m not sure why I waited so long to treat myself to the quality of La Creuset! My Dutch oven (5.5 qt.) performed beautifully, simmering the beef stew to perfection. All the browned bits on the bottom of the pot disappeared with the swipe of a dish cloth, no scrubbing! Cannot wait to bake a whole chicken, the enamel seals in the flavors like no other Dutch oven. I opted for the teal color, and it looks beautiful in my kitchen.

My first Dutch oven
This was my first dutch oven purchased ever in my life. The reason why I purchased was I wanted to cook something nice and warm like beef bourguignon for my mother-in-law who was going to visit us in two days. So, I decided to take subway all the way to downtown in the heavy rain to Macy’s. Then I bought good wine and ingredients and cooked beef bourguignon one day before her arrival. Cooking was very smooth. Indeed only after two hours in the oven, meat got so tender. However, sadly, my mom-in-law disliked my beef bourguignon. So my first Dutch oven experience ended up with a bit of negative emotion. However, I have to acknowledge that my bother-in-law paid me a good compliment. Next, I made borscht and no-knead bread and those were super successful. Overall, I am happy with this Dutch oven. One little con was that the edge of the lid chipped a bit when I dropped it from only a couple of inches above. Also, the edge of the lid was not fully covered with enamel so you have to dry it completely otherwise it gets rusted. I would like to know whether other equivalent brands have this issue.
A must Have
A must have pot for pretty much everything you need to cook. I baked bread and the difference using this is outstanding
