I have worn 501 Shrink to Fit for many years. They look good, work well, and you don’t have to baby them. I have lost weight during the pandemic and have gone from 38-32 to 34-32. I have led my wardrobes with 501 Shrink to Fits. Buy with confidence when you are changing sizes. The vanity sizing is a plus, too. One request: please add some new colors. I would love a Shrink to Fit “Wheat” jean. Or a “Khaki” or “Olive” color to replace my khaki pants. Think about it. You would “gain share” in my closet. And I hear others are gaining weight. They are looking for new colors too. These $300 Selvedge jeans are a luxury in today’s world. Levi’s 501 Shrink to Fit are a great value and a great fit in these times.
I love to wear baggy jeans and these jeans are perfect. If you are a woman, size up two waist sizes but same length you always wear. I am normally at 28/29 in womens jeans, I bought the 31 and they are perfect. Love them and so reasonably priced compared to most womens jeans
Buying jeans on the internet was not something I was naturally convinced by. However, I needn’t have worried; the jeans are exactly as described and I’m thrilled with them. The right colour, a perfect fit and incredibly efficient delivery. Well done Levi’s and thank you.
My husband has always loved wearing Levi's 501s - there is no better cut. Being 6ft 6ins tall means he often struggles to find jeans with a long enough inside leg, so was delighted to find some online. They look amazing as usual.
Levi’s jeans used to last for ever. They wear at the back pockets quicker that any jean. They aren’t as durable as they once were.
Good, but not as great as they were in the 80’s. I do like the deeper pockets, but the material is thinner and wears out faster. I still have jeans from my high school years, which I still prefer over these new ones.
I brought these jeans my and didn't know they was button fly and the bottoms a little to wide
I don't understand the confusion over button vs zippered. If LeVI'S changed the original button fly (501 have always been button fly) to a zipper they would not be 501's. People 501 are the original blue jean made by the now iconic Mr. Strauss about 150 years ago. This is the best of the best as a matter of fact some of the older jeans have sold for thousands of dollars at auction. I'm not saying buying them could be a retirement plan but they are the best investment in blue jeans you can make. Why do you think that today there are so many companies making "blue Jeans" and so many fake Levi's on the market? it is because the 501's are the best you can get and the industry knows that. Imitation is the best complement possible from the competitors. Please do your research and make sure you get the "real LeVI'S", buy from very reputable sellers and be vary vigilant if buying from auction sites and sites that allow third party sellers because they are waiting for you to see a photo of what looks like this brand for sale at a lower price. Back in the 50s you could buy a pair for 10 bucks and today if you look at inflation over the past 60 years this brand the Levi 501 is the best you can get period and have held the price point.
To all the snowflakes crying about the button fly, they're FIVE O ONES!!! Anyone that knows anything about Levi's knows that. That's one of the selling and feature points of 501's, the button fly. Don't like em? Do your homework and buy something else next time.
Being higher in the rise the 12 1/ inch rise fits above the hip, and stay up great. At near 70 years old my butt is now gone and this length rise is PERFECT for me. The buttons are a pain and that is why only 4 stars. The 505 the model with the zipper sits on the hips , and with no butt, you can be on your tugging them up all day. I hope LEVI reads this and designs a jean for us older guys with no backsides. LOL.
As always a good fit, good style and good quality what more can I say !
I have have been wearing 501s only since I was a teenager. I am almost 60 now and they are still the only Blue Jeans I will buy. Very true to size, I never have to try them on. I just order online or grab a pair from the shelf and walk to the register. Timeless design.
Had the same cut and style for years, excellent product and service
Gifted them to my son for his 17th and he absolutely loves the fit. He's 6'7" already and begining to struggle buying High Street clothes. These will be worn to death I think!!
I brought them for my brother excellent price great Levi quality
I used the instructions from Levi's blog and shrunk these in the tub. I love the way the way these 501's fit and look. A lot of people complain in the reviews about these but I feel like you just need to be honest with yourself about your waist size when buying. I'm very excited to see how these fade, they're everything I've been looking for in a pair of jeans.
Great pair of jeans. Super denim, colour and fit. Love them!
I bought my husband a pair of these jeans in the darker colour. They fit perfectly. When he said he also wanted a lighter colour pair I had no qualms about ordering again. The new pair arrived, same size 33/32 exact waist size as the previous pair. But when he tried them on they were way to small.!!! How can the same style, same size, different colour vary so much. I was so annoyed as they were for his holiday in Devon.
I'm a diehard 501 STF fan. I will always always love this jean. I will probably always recommend and continue to buy some form of the 501 jean for the rest of my life. HOWEVER, dear Levi's, when manufacturing was switched to Egypt away from the DR and Mexico, the fit changed, by centimeters from the yoke to the width of the calf. The jean is not the same Shink to Fit true straight leg jean anymore. It makes me incredibly sad that this change as messed with the fit of the jean. So sad.
Bought 2 pairs, one to shrink was 34 x 36 made in Egypt, the other to not shrink was 34 x 34 made in Mexico. The 34 x 36 Egypt fit well in the waist, the 34 x 34 Mexico is too tight in the waist. When I put them next to each other, it is clear there is a 1 1/2 inch difference in the waist. Neither one was washed. Poor quality control, so the 34 x 34 is going back. Not impressed! I love Levi’s, but how do I get 34 x 34 with the correct waist size? This is frustrating…
These 501 jeans fit waaay better than the ones for women! They have such a great fit AND they are true to size. When I buy Levi's jeans for women I have to go down 2 sizes, but not with these... they fit perfectly in my normal size. :) Will highly recommend them for the ladies if you (like me) just want a simple pair of cool jeans WITHOUT cropped legs or a high waist! These make your butt look way more nice, they sit on the hips and touch your feet. Looks awesome with converse by the way.
BOUGHT FOR HUSBAND DARK AND MEDIUM WASHES BOTH GOOD FIT WELL COMFORTABLE HUSBAND VERY HAPPY WITH THESE BOUGHT HIS NORMAL SIZE AND LOOKING BIT MORE TRENDY
... at 6 3, 215 athletic (snowboarder for decades, sprinter and having spent several years lifting with a focus on legs, I've got a small waist relative to my badonkadonk and thick thighs). Any jeans I could find that fit my 36 inch inseam and athletic build were cheap stretchy feeling jeans and most cost 100-200 that only were decent quality. I've been shy towards jeans for years and years. Recently got a job where jeans are the way to go vs dress pants or my old ragged comfy sweats or shorts. I decided to throw a bit of faith in the original 501s and ordered 4 pair (one size up from what my 34 inch waist would suggest for the sake of the tree trunks). Just tried one on and WOW I should have gone for the OG jean years ago! QUALITY build, and super comfy even without breaking them in! My lady loves the way they look on me also.
I have extensive experience with Shrink-to-Fit 501s. They have reliably arrived with actual measurements slightly bigger than labeled. For example, W32 L34 have always measured 33/34.5 before shrinking. This time, I ordered W32 L32, aiming for a length that doesn't need to be cuffed. The item arrived with actual measurements of 32/31.5, so LACKING room to shrink as expected. After a hot-water bath, the waist is still about 32 inches, and the length is 29.5 inches. Wearable, but not what I have come to expect over many years.
The material is ridiculously thin compared to just a few years ago, the crotch wears out in two or three months oh, and it's hit or miss on the sizing. Quality control issues are non-existent anymore with Levi's. So sad this used to be the go-to brand for everybody!
I have worn 501 shrink to fit since i was 14, back then it was 28X36. Now they are 36X38 at 52 years old. It has always been hard to find them in the long length i need. All the stores think everyone is short and fat! Glad i found them here.
The denim is just right; it is strong and stout, but not stiff and heavy. There is adequate provision of pockets and the overall fit is excellent.
I have purchased Levi’s before so I know of the quality and looks and would select the brand over others.
Really comfortable Jeans with a wonderful fit. I am happy with the purchase!
Though I am not adverse to change, it is also nice to know that some things are kept over time. Most styles of jeans come and go (C'mon, Levi's how about a bell bottom offering), But Levi's 501s have always been a timeless and iconic clothing cornerstone that, though probably not appropriate for the most formal of settings, has gained so much acceptance through the years that is as acceptable to see them on a person out for a dinner at a 4 star restaurant as it is to see them at a rough and rugged worksite (maybe not the same pair). I lament that it is sometimes difficult to find the original style in brick-and-mortars. Personally, I hope to never see the end of the original 501s. And the closer to the original that they can be kept, the better.
Trying to order not getting the order page, past customer was very happy with the outcome of the purchasing process
Since the restructuring, the fabric used for these jeans shrink more than normal unexpectedly, so you're forced to buy larger sizes until you get one that will fit after shrinking. The process has to be redone, with consecutive pairs. Its expensive when you're stuck with jeans you can't wear.
First pair of Levi's ever for my husband, and he looks great in them! I just KNEW he would!!
The size is smaller than previous own (3 months ago) 501 jeans. The rear pocket is smaller about 2 cm that my wallet barely fit in. The length (usually bought 29) is longer than previous about 1.5 inches. Sigh!!!
The original shrink-to-fit 501 jeans have changed less in the last 50 years than any other product I use regularly. Decent pricing on a good product.
I'd wish that the necks on you crew neck t-shirts were a bit tighter and better quality. If they would be just PERFECT!
Purchased two weeks ago. The fit is wrong because the left leg is cut wrong and it twists the seems are on top of my knee and behind. In the croch it’s all wrong so it folds and is very uncomfortable when sitting. Overall it’s not what I expected and not even close to my 501 jeans from the 60s and 70s.
A timeless Classic 501 which never go out of fashion.
We bought 2 pairs of 501 jeans. My husband has been wearing them for decades. The black ones are so much smaller he can’t even wear them
Only place I can get my size stores don't cary my size
I have been buying Levi 501s for over 50 years. In high school(class of 1968) I wore 32x36 501s. In college I wore 34x36 501s. Now I’m over 70yo and wear 35x36 501s. I love the button fly.It’s an easy pull and it’s open
Was exactly what I ordered and was delivered on time. Very happy to not have to search through piles of jeans to find my size!
Very happy with this purchase. These 501 jeans are much more like the original Levis. Premium quality, heavier weight denim. These jeans feel right and wear right. Made in Indonesia to USA specifications.
I ordered my a pair of jeans arrived with in a few days, fit perfectly and great customer service. A very happy husband.
My 34 inch waist is now 33 inches after washing. Please replace them with 501s that are 34 inches in the waist after washing.
very good .. worth to buy cost effective with good product
About impossible to get in a 29 waist unless you order. Same good quality and fit. And no zipper. That’s the best part.
I love Levi jeans, but this is the second pair I have bought where the waistband has been ruin by deeply embedded folding and creases. I know this cannot happen to new fabric no matter how much stone washing it has gone through. The folding/creasing points always occur in the same places (in the front over the legs, along the sides, over the belt loops).....as if a stout individual with a beer belly wore them over the course of a few years. I have had kind of professional attempt to remove the creases in the waistband, but all were unsuccessful. None of these professionals believed new material was used to create the waistbands as the creases were permanently embedded. I find the rolling down of the waistbands an uncomfortable and unattractive feature.
I am stoked with my jeans. They are BY FAR the best-made jeans out there. I only wish I had paid attention to the fact that the pair I ordered were button fly because using button fly when you have MS and your hands don't work well can be tough. But the jeans are FLAWLESS! Absolutely love em.
I love Levi’s but these are just too big! I will be exchanging
Bought two pair of 501s and one had a nick on the leg. I know over time it will ravel. Don't know how to ask for a return and new pair. Love these 501s
Why are the back pockets sewn so low? Can feel them on the back of leg when walking. Creates an image of sagging pants.
Just right! Perfect lenght and size! Comfortable and fit! Keep it up!
GOT MY NEW 501 PRESHUNK MED BLUE, THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS BUTTONS WAS HARD GETTING THEM IN THE LOOPS, SO I CUT THE LOOPS SO I WAS ABLE TO BUTTON, BUT I CUT THEM TO MUCH NOW THE LOOPS ARE CUT ALL THE WAY THROUGH, SO I MESSED MY NEW 501 UP .
I like the way they fit I just wish I would have known they had buttons instead of zippers
The last time I bought 501 Shrink-to-fit Levis was in 1974. Only 3 differences: bound, not selvidge edgs on the outseams; Bar-tack stitching @ tops of back pockets is done differently; and these jeans are manufactured in Mexico, not the USA. However they are solidly built and true to size.. Still the absolute best jeans out there.
I have bought 501’s for 30-yrs. these were so off ion size I can’t believe it. Consistency is gone in the new sweat-shop world of clothing manufacturing. SMH
I love these classic 501's. My only issue is, the RED TAG on the back pocket doesn't say "Levis" anymore. Just the registered trademark "R" symbol. Beyond that, no issues. Keep doing your thing!
I have had this size and brand before. They lasted for many years and were worn many times a week. Finally needed a new pair of the same . Levi original jeans. We’re delivered on time and had the same fit as my old ones. Great jeans
Purchased this item on Jan 3rd and just now getting it. Wasn't able to wear it to the all white function I bought it for, The process of getting my merchandise was way too long,
Have been looking for black jeans for quite awhile so I purchased these thinking it was what I was looking for. I either didn’t read the description correctly or today’s black jeans aren’t true black. Will be returning them
couldnt find levi's , went to website ordeted love them
i have been looking for levi and could not find them, then i went to your website
I bought first pair and they were not long enough so added 2 inches to length and fit like glove. They get better everyday.
They make it impossible to get your exact color maybe my fault but their bad website
A great pair of 501's, they fit and feel so good. Got a great deal and delivery was fast and easy.
Nice styling and color, but a little wary that these are "original fit"/ The thighs are a bit more snug than my older pairs. Still a classy jean.
I'll have to see how they last long term but out of the box, these are the same great 501's as always.
I bought the exact same model and size as all of my old jeans and the new ones do not fit. Much bigger than the old ones. Have you made the old sizes bigger so people who have gained weight don’t feel bad about their size?
The only jeans I’ve ever worn are Levi’s. And that goes back to 1957. My older brother wore them so I had to! The jeans I just purchased are as wearable and tough as that first pair. Totally pleased and will continue to buy. To put it in perspective— I don’t say I need jeans; I say I need Levi’s! And just to prove my story: photo is of me and my older brother in the motel across from Disneyland.
I can always count on Levi’s to deliver a quality product c
I hadn’t bought any jeans in a long time, I’ve always loved them I took a chance and ordered the Levi’s 505. They’re super comfortable and look great. I also ordered a pair of 501s looking forward to wearing them also very happy with my purchase.
Extremely comfortable, soft and stretchy. These were the go to jeans of mine 40 years ago. Don’t why I stopped wearing them.
First time trying STF - very happy. The advice on the Levi’s label may be too generous to go up 3 sizes in length . They DO NOT shrink 3 inches.
great fit and quality. wasn't sure I would like the button fly but it works just fine
I like them I wear them to work and they get the job done. Send me free jeans my size is W30 L32. :)
Didn’t find any instructions on the website on how to order the size or what to do with them. Turns out you are supposed to order the length about 4 inches longer than normal. Waist size at least 2 inches larger than normal. Instructions also indicated to put them on, get in the shower or tub and then wear them till they are dry. Ended up returning them. At 50 plus years of age, I don’t want to wear wet pants around my house! But the color, quality, etc was all very good. I would suggest buying them, if you are prepared for the work to get them to your size.
The whole experience was great. Ordering was easy.
While the fit is good and the price was right I just wish they were as heavy of material as they use to be years ago.
The color was good and it was well received. I will buy one more with Jincheong
They fit well and I have always been a fan of the button fly. Very nice quality too.
Still great! I love the old school look and fit... it does take a few washings to get them to the best fit.
Bought two pair same jean different color. Don’t remember seeing something that said they were button up. Did not even know they still made those.
I had one Levi’s 501s for years growing up. Always remembering them to fit like a glove, and to feel good. I had decided to purchase a pair to relive the nostalgia and was very disappointed as the denim was very rough and they did not fit as expected.
Not much to say other than I love these jeans. 501s are my go-to. Comfortable, fit me well, shipment came in a day ahead of schedule. Very happy.
Fit is great.Fabric study. Good Value. Always great jeans!
These jeans fit amazing. The other Levi's i had were way too baggy and these fit great.
I just bought two pairs like these in dark stonewash and I bought these in dark rinse. I rated the others a 5, these a 4 only because I like the stonewash color better. I'm keeping them because they fit perfectlyand after a few launderings I probably will have the same color.
My husband will not wear button fly at all. Just waiting till COVID is under control to return. Wish we could just shop normal for him.
I bought it a month ago, but I've been faithful to that model since 1980 so it's still my favorite.
Loving the stretch 501s. Great fit. My favorite jeans.
I need a 42-29. I always have to pay to have them hemmed from 30 to 29 (and no I can't find a Levi designated tailor anywhere in Georgia, I started looking from Atlanta and moved out to entire state - nada.) Fit is very long, not very big
I am very happy easy to use the web page the deliver was fast.
Thank you for this quality jeans! My husband adorable its!
This is my second pair in the last few years. These go great for casual business wear with a button down. They are also great summer work jeans.
These were more expensive than my regular 501 with a dark wash. I liked the color, but the denim is thinner than a "normal" pair of plain 501s. I'll just keep these as my date night jeans and avoid any kind of wear and tear.
Wish quality control on button holes on 501s was better.
I have two pair. One order a year ago. Great fit good wear 501 stretch jeans I wear for all type of activities.
Just what I expected when I purchased these. Fit was perfect as was the comfort.
Love the 501 button fly jeans, never a wrong choice!
