recipes like BLT and other things a toddler can do

There are three different quiche recipes that use the exact same recipe, just different fillings, and even a recipe for a BLT and the only thing she ‘adds’ to the recipe is homemade mayo. There’s also a recipe for grits that teach you to just buy quick, cooking grits and heat it up! Very disappointed in the ‘recipes’ in this book

Simple recipes that taste good

I loved watching and listening to J.G. on her show on TV, so I glanced through her book and decided to buy it. I have been rewarded for that decision. My sick with Covid, pregnant daughter that I made the Chicken & Wild Rice and Sausage & Kale Soups for said that her husband has aleady put in an advance order for me to make them some more (the chicken and wild rice) when they return from the hospital with the baby. These two are lay gourmets themselves, so they have strong opinions about what tastes good. Then, I tried the Best-Ever Fluffy Pancakes (I added mashed banana and made them banana pancakes). My pickier-than-'Mikey' grandson ate one--then he wanted and proceeded to devour two more. This is the first thing that I have ever made for this six-year-old that has been an unquestionable hit. Thank you, J.G.!

Love this book!

I already had volume two and loved it so I had to get this one! I have already made two different things from this book and they turned out sooooo good! I love Joanna's cooking style and so much of what she makes are things my husband and I would eat. The recipes in this book call for things that I mostly have in my pantry, I see a few things I will need to go get. The pics are great, I love that she includes so much of her personal life in photos in her cookbooks. If you are a fan of Joanna's you must get this one! I am eagerly awaiting to see if she puts out a third book!

It’s a beautiful book but that’s it.

I bought this because it was such a pretty book and I like Fixer Upper. The recipes looked like normal options for family meals. The issue is that all the ones I have tried lack a lot of flavor. This is probably because she is not a chef - understanding herbs and spices would help to add more flavoring to what initially looks like a good lineup of recipes and a pretty book.

Nothing special

I am surprised so many people like this cookbook. I have cooked 4-5 recipes and only one was ok and it was just a bunch of cans thrown together in a crockpot. I think this book looks better sitting on a shelf than the actual recipes.

I Love This Cookbook!

I love this cookbook. Not only does it have recipes, but it also has beautiful full color pictures, stories pertaining to the recipes, & helpful notes. The recipes are things that everyday people can make. No unknown hard to find ingredients or fancy techniques needed. I love that I can make nearly everything in this cookbook with what I already keep in my house on a regular basis. Who knew I could make so many things with what I have on hand??? The book itself is of really good quality. It's a great size, has a sturdy hard cover, classic black binding, and nice thick pages. I already have Joanna's second cookbook ordered!
