This is an awesome food prep tool. It is easy to use and cleans easily. My son uses it too....it slices potatoes thin for making potato chips.

Not sure how reviews can be so different. I was not able to slice tomatoes, bell peppers or onions. I agree that it seemed to shred them. It looked good, but I will go with another brand as I had one before I moved and should have stuck with that brand. I have to return this one.

This item was disppointing. Blade extremely thin and flexes easily. Flimsy at best and is not sturdy. Also the prongs on the safety piece that holds food in place were not long enough to puncture food and hold in place. performed ok on softer food items like cucumber, squash, tomatoes, but for more dense items like carrots & onions I would not recommend.

Works well. I use it for many different things and I'm pleased.

I find the food grip to be undersized and hard to get larger items like a half onion started. The food tends to shred rather than slice. I'll be returning it.
