Loved these for the first couple weeks. Then two washes in they started to shed and pill and pick up grit like a microfiber towel. VERY VERY unhappy.
After the first washing, the towels knitted something awful and shed fuzzies everywhere. They are barely absorbent, rendering them useless. DO NOT purchase these towels, spend money on better ones which actually serve their purpose.
I never leave reviews for products, but my husband and I had such a terrible experience with these towels I think it's worth warning other people. We got a whole set of the Tide Pool and Ivory towels for our wedding. They feel great, but after washing they got yellow spots on them. We tried different soap and were very careful not to expose them to any face wash. Every time we washed them, more yellow stains showed up. We think the dye was getting washed out, but we're not really sure. Thankfully Macy's took them all back and we are looking to buy any brand other than Martha Stewart!
I purchased bath, hand, and wash cloths as gifts for myself & others. I thought my batch was bad, but all of us were really surprised at how thin and how the quality was not up to par for these towels. They seemed too light weight to really absorb, and did not dry after bathing. I am returning all of them. I have purchased Martha S items before and the quality is always high, but not these.
I have purchased around 25 of these towels. Love all the beautiful colors. Nice and plush. Great quality. The best towels from Macy's.
Bought four sets (washcloths, hand towels, and bath towels) in white. The size of the towel is a great size and is able to dry you very well. Washcloth is a little over sized but works. The towel is very soft, which my wife really enjoys. The pile is not as thick or as high as some higher priced hotel style towels but for the price they are just what is needed. Need to wash items probably twice to get all the excess threads out of the towels. Have used for three weeks and think it was a good purchase.
Frankly, I am amazed at both Martha Stewart AND Macy's for offering such cheap towels. I received my order (quickly) in a very damaged shipping bag, but the contents were intact. I purchased towels, washcloths and bath mats - 16 items in all. They looked flimsy through the individual bags, but I opened one up anyway. Right out of the bag, there were snags, bad bindings, loose threads, and the towels were so thin I quickly decided that these would be returned. So surprised in the very poor quality of these towels. I buy on-line regularly, rarely return items, and have only written one other review (which was a glowing review), but I felt I had to let people know what they were getting with these items.
When these arrived they were packaged nice and neatly but they seemed very thin. I figured they might fluff up in the wash. I washed them for the first time before using in a towels only light wash, dried on low heat, no bleach, and when I pulled them out of the dryer there were pulls and strings in every single towel and washcloth I purchased. They fluffed up a little in the dryer but still seemed thin, and since I didn't even get to use them before they began to unravel I am in the process of returning them as I write this review.
