Dolce Vita New formula

I’ve been using Nars Dolce Vita lip pencil for over a decade. Recently bought again and it’s not the same. it does last longer and it’s creamier than the old formula yet the colour now is much darker and dries out your lip during the day. Nars lost a loyal customer, currently searching for a new lip shade in other brands.

Miss the velvet formulation

The cruella and dolce vita colors are/were perfect for me. But the new formulation colors are slightly off and I don't like the way it applies/feels as much as the velvet.

Nars is the only matte lipstick I wear

The staying power, bold color payoff, and comfortable wear make this a top-notch product. I exclusively wear NARS lip products because every time I do, I'm asked, 'What lipstick are you wearing?'"

PLEASE BRING BACK THE VELVET FORMULA

The new formula of Dolce vita is just too pigment and the color is already different. The old formula is much more comfortable as I can build up the pigment w/o making my lips look like I just put tons of paint on them.

Not bad. But not like the original

I was a huge fan of the velvet matte lip pencils, dolce vita was my perfect my lips but better color and I loved gow they were not super intense on my thin lips. This dolce vita shade is not at all like the original, it's warm and almost peachy undertones. This pencil glides on super smooth, it almost feels oily when you first apply then dries down. The color is much more pigmented than the original velvet matte, which some people may like better but I preferred a subtle more build able formula. Overall this product feels much more like a regular lip stick. It takes a while to dry down, but doesn't seem to smudge too badly. I can see how it may dry out lips over time. It definitely is not a bad product and I like how it looks and I like the pencil applicator. Overall, I wish they would bring back the velvet matte sticks or at least tweak the shade to be more like the original. If I enjoy gow this wears, I may try another shade that I used to love to see if it suits me better.

You will endlessly love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Power Matte Lip Pencil in the color Endless Love. I'm impressed by both the texture and the color of the lip pencil. Even after eating, I didn't reapply it, and it stayed on my lips just as well as it did the first time I applied it.

Requires NARS specific sharpener

You have to have NARS sharpener. If you use another brand it won't work. I've never seen proprietary makeup like this. Usually I'm a fan of NARS.
