"London's characters leap off the page...It's a delightful start to a series that promises to be good fun. ", Publishers Weekly"This is the romcom Carrie Bradshaw would have written if she were a dog person, and I'm obsessed!", Teri Wilson, USA Today bestselling author of A Spot of TroubleHow do you start over when the biggest mistake of your life has more than one million views?Forget diamonds, the internet is forever. Social media consultant Isla Thompson learned that lesson the hard way when she went viral for all the wrong reasons. A month later, Isla is still having nightmares about the moment she ruined a young starlet's career and made herself the most unemployable influencer in Manhattan. But she doesn't have the luxury of hiding until she's no longer Instagram poison. Not when her fourteen-year-old sister, Dani, needs Isla to keep a roof over their heads. So, she takes the first job she can get- caring for Camilla, a glossy-maned, foul-tempered hellhound. After a week of ferrying Camilla from playdates to pet psychics, Isla starts to suspect that the dachshund's bark is worse than her bite, just like her owner, Theo Garrison. Isla has spent her career working to make people likable and here's Theo, happy to hide behind his reputation as a brutish recluse. But Theo isn't a brute, he's sweet.

3.5 stars really

So, I was really excited for this one, I mean, there’s a dachshund on the cover and in the title! And while the story was good, it wasn’t one that grabbed me and made it so I couldn’t put the book down. I do really prefer first person when I’m reading romance, especially when we do kind of get both characters’ sides of the story. Overall it was a good enough read, but I don’t know that I will go on with the series.

Loved Every Bit

This book made me fall in love with it along with laughing out loud. I loved the different modern day references that were made and that there were several. Just an added enjoyment bonus. It also had a touch of Beauty and the Beast feel. I basically wanted to read this book because of the adorable cover and didn't read the synopsis. It was so much more than I expected. It says it's first of Paws in the City series. Definitely will keep an eye out for book 2. Fingers crossed there will be but I'm guessing with new main characters.

Adorable Romance

The Dachshund Wears Prada by Stefanie London is the first book in her Paws in the City series. This adorable romance has a high maintenance and delightful dachshund named Carmen that steals the show. Isla Thompson just suffered a career-ending blow when a video goes viral of her interview with a Disney princess. Isla has been caring for her younger sister, Dani for the past several years, and built her influencer business up from nothing. But after the viral interview, she doesn’t know how she’ll be able to support herself and her sister, as nobody will hire her after that video. Theo Garrison just lost his grandmother, his only family, and has inherited her misbehaving dachshund named Carmen. Exasperated with Carmen’s shenanigans, he takes the dog out for a walk in the park where he runs into Isla and Dani. Carmen takes an instant liking to both women and Theo is amazed that the dog is so calm with them. He offers Isla a job as a dog sitter for Carmen. Will Isla be able to tame Carmen and Theo? This is a cute and charming, but predictable story. Carmen makes the story a bit more interesting with all her high-end spa treatments and photo shoots. The romance between Theo and Isla was good and a bit steamy. I loved the relationship between Isla and her sister, Dani. They have a horrible mother, so they depend on each other very much, and I enjoyed watching them figure out how to add a romance to their dynamic. I also enjoyed the Theo and Carmen relationship. They were both grieving their grandmother, and both were acting out in their own ways to keep their broken hearts from breaking any more. I recommend The Dachshund Wears Prada to anyone who enjoys a good romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A Pure Delight

A pure delight to read. A rom com with plenty of emotions, many laugh out moments but a few tears were shed (not all sad). A sizzling chemistry between Theo and Isla, both having to come out of their comfort zones. Loved the relationship between Isla and her younger sister, Dani (Isla is raising Dani). Add in the leading character, Camilla the temperamental dachshund that brings Theo and Isla together. I highly recommend this book. The first book in the series but eagerly waiting to read Scout's story.

Great Start To A New Series

Stefanie London has written another fantastic book. No surprise there. This time she takes us to New York City and we get to know Isla and Theo, along with the inimitable Camilla, the aforementioned dachshund. Isla has lost her job in social media after a particularly nasty incident and is worried about supporting herself and her younger sister, Dani. Along comes Theo and Camilla, and suddenly Isla finds herself working as a caregiver for a dog. Not quite what she had planned, but she and Camilla hit it off and she begins to draw out Camilla and her reluctant owner, too. Isla and Theo have a slow burn romance, neither one of them wanting to upset the arrangement they have, but both recognizing there is something special between them. I adored both characters and really felt so much for Theo and all he’d been through as a kid. There are plenty of romantic moments, of course, but also lots of fun ones, too. Camilla is a star and I fell in love with the sweet, scared princess. There was quite a bit of heat and lots of heart in this book and I found myself reading late into the night to finish it. I highly recommend getting to know little Camilla and her humans, Isla and Theo.

Fun and heartwarming

Social media consultant Isla becomes unemployable after an unfortunate viral video. Isla takes the only job she can get—as a pet sitter for the spoiled dachshund of a reclusive billionaire. It soon becomes clear that all three are suffering from abandonment issues. Despite the way they bristle at each other, they're meant to be a family—if only they can learn to trust again. This book is every bit as good as the cover promises it will be. It's a strong rom com with a ton of heart and endearing characters. Dachshund Camilla is more than just a prop—she's a fully fledged character in her own right, with her own arc. It's very sweet and a little heartbreaking. Hero Theo was so relatable—he has the kind of wealth and fame that make it impossible for him to trust people. Isla's combination of aloofness and compassion is exactly what he needs to come out of his shell. He's starved for love, and Isla makes him want to feel again. Isla is sweet and funny, strong and scared—doing her best to make a life for herself and her teenage sister. She knows falling for her boss is a mistake, but the job is supposed to be temporary after all. She does her best to stick to her principles and rebuild her dreams, even when it's hard. This book is fun and heartwarming, moving seamlessly between the two. If you love rom com, don't miss this one. Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

The must-read of the season!

London stole my heart ... with a snooty, opinionated dog! With the first book in the new Paws in the City series I was delighted to meet Camilla the dachshund who stole the show and warmed my heart. I was quickly hooked with attention grabbing characters, storylines and witty banter. Adorable, sweet, emotional and let's not forget the steamy goodness all rolled into one addictive read! I cannot wait for more to come in this series. Isla's conundrum kicks off the book and sets the stage for her interaction with adorable Camilla. She was easy to like and heartwarming. Theo tried his best to come across as gruff and unfeeling, but his depth was there from the very start. I really liked him and felt for his situation. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an animal playing a large part in the meeting of the core couple and a mixture of humor, emotion and happily ever after throughout.
