How's your range? Excellent with this Santoku, which steps up to fruits, vegetables and meats with a precision hollow edge that creates air pockets to prevent food from sticking to the blade. Crafted from high-carbon, stain-resistant steel, this expert-grade knife makes prep & presentation positively perfect.
Hello, I wished I would've gone ahead and returned this knife but I am too late now. It is overpriced for the quality albeit, a sharp knife. The upside is it is light, very light. The downside, it is stamped not forged and pricey for what you get. I wished I would've researched knives further before purchasing - live and learn. For the price point, I do not recommend. Thank you.
Sharp and feels just right in the hand. Cuts everything with ease. Great knife.
Very comfortable to use. It is very sharp that give precise cuts. Cutting thin slices do not stick on blade. The feel of the handle and great balance. Did enough research to know that this particular knife is in most lists of top Santoku knives.
Perfect size for slicing, chopping. Ergonomicically perfect and works for every function in the kitchen. The blade is just sharp enough and with care should last a lifetime. I love Wusthof knives and would purchase them in every size.
The Santoku combines Western and Eastern influences. This blade is very well made and if you like type it will do fine. The Kai is both aesthetically and ergonomically superior in my view, but the cobalt steel had serious corrosion issues. 1) The action is somewhat limited. I think the classic Asian slicer (cleaver) is more comfortable and has a cleaner appearance. 2) The Wusthof has a Granaton (sculptured) blade for food release. Unlike many, Wusthof has properly positioned this right at the edge. Howver, in my test, it did not make any noticeable difference. 3) If used as a chopper, the action is not as nice as a 9 inch and up (10 inch for French style) Western blade. 4) To repeat mystelf, having used other Asian style knifes, the handle feel and appearance are not a good. It certainly is a good knife, but would not be my first choice
This knife was a great first knife for my daughter’s first apartment ! Handle felt sturdy and fit hand well!
This knife is very sharp - I like that. It's a bit too light - not as balanced as I'd hoped - but you get what you pay for. (I got it on sale).
Best knife I’ve ever purchased, but beware very, very sharp.Food preparation made easy with this baby.Extremely satisfied with my purchase.
