We received this as a wedding gift off our registry just over six months ago, but did not start using it until about a month ago. It's already rusting all over. This is totally unacceptable for such an expensive set. Just called Macy's customer service and since it was bought over 6 months ago, they refuse do anything about it. So now I've given away my not nice set (that didn't rust over many years of use) and am stuck with a set we hoped would be our fancy "forever" set and it is already rusted. Probably going to be unusable in a couple months. Steer clear of this silverware. I would NOT recommend this set at all. Makes me wish we hadn't gone through Macy's for our registry.

I bought this set a few years ago and love the design, weight and look of the flatware. A good value for a service for 12 when purchased on sale. The set has held up great. However, over time the knives are all beginning to show rust spots and do not clean up well in the dishwasher. Will have to replace the set I have because the knives are becoming unusable. The rest of the set is still like new!

This is our second set of Yamazaki flatware. We had the previous set for over ten years and just wanted a new style. Oddly, I have to hand wash the knives. If they go in the dishwasher, they get rusty water spots.

These are really nice pieces, they DO have a high polish to them, which means they will show fingerprints ... like a clean window/mirror shows a smudge.I dishwash mine and they come out spotless every time, if REALLY solid flatware, with an elegant

We use these as our "good set" of silverware due to the afore mentioned comments of fingerprints etch. We even though we only use these on special occasions, there was opportunity to see if they rust as my husband left several pieces submerged in water overnight and then some... we saw none. For our everyday set, we have International and it has held up well, no rust and do to the pattern (hammered look) no fingerprint issues

Our family prefers large spoons and forks and this set had the perfect size of both. The flatware is well balanced in your hand and feels well made. Some reviewers wrote that the set will show finger prints, this is true and why I gave it 4 stars. However, I am very pleased with the overall appearance, size and shape. I do not use a dishwasher so I cannot speak to the rust issues that some have mentioned, but they have come out sparkling after hand washing. If you like simple clean lines and large utensils I would recommend this set. Also for those who want to know the set is made in China; It does have a disclaimer that it is made in factories with fair labor practices.

Purchased this set for my daughter as a housewarming gift. The flatware is of simple design and a good weight in the hand. My daughter and her boyfriend love it. The only problem was that a few of the knives rusted after one washing in the dishwasher. Thus four stars, not five. I returned the set for a replacement and so far so good. Hopefully, the first set had a defective finish and is not indicative of the usual Yamazaki quality.
