The Yorktown design from Pfaltzgraff is the design of plate ware I grew up with as a child of the 70's. It reminds me of family dinners, comfort food and classic style. I admire the design and quality of Pfaltzgraff. It is definitely plate ware that stands the test of time.
Pfaltzgraff is quality. I own this pattern & it stands the test of time because it doesn't disappoint. Since you can always replace a broken item, you will always have an intact set. The only drawback these days, is nothing is USA manufactured any more. Maybe Pfaltzgraff will resume manufacture in the USA if we let them know we care about American made quality.
Okay... yes, the dinnerware is very durable, well-made, stand the test of time, blah, blah, blah. I give it 5 stars for that. Heck, my parents bought a set when they were married over 30 years ago and they still look brand new and have held up...... BUT- I was tortured growing up with the sound they make when you use your flatware.... it's the worst kind of nails on a chalk board. Yes, dinnerware makes sound when flatware scrapes on it, but this is just torture! When I scrolled through and saw this pattern, my whole body cringed just thinking of the sound..... Just be warned if you have sensitive hearing or are easily annoyed.
We used to have this plates they are strong and heavy.
