    Animals lose their parade marching rights in 1927. Macy’s gets Tony Sarg to design massive balloons. Inspired by the idea of upside down marionettes, Sarg teams up with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant Company to make the Parade’s first set: air-filled characters propped up on sticks!
