When I use it on the induction stove, it’s almost like all the kernels pop at the same time. It only takes a couple of minutes, maybe four for a whole pot, of stirring at a slow, consistent pace. The original is lighter weight metal and the latches stay latched while trying to dump out the popcorn. The new design is, of course, heavier and the latches don't hold well. The top slides out of place when trying to dump the popcorn and it's not as easy to maneuver. It still works better than any other way we've popped corn, and we eat a lot of it.
