The weight is excellent, heat plate is top notch. My issue is your hand has to be in a certain position to use the steam function. That position is over the heat controls! When I’m ironing sheets or linen tablecloths, I use the steam trigger and I inevitably change the settings from the highest to the lowest because the control gets inadvertently touched. I hate this iron, despite the wonderful qualities. I am the type, for some reason, I don’t really read instructions, I just prefer to tinker with it, and this is very simple to put together and use. No problem at all. Only issue, is the ‘vertical support’ can be a bit annoying. It is design to be removed so that you can compact the product down when not using. But I wish you it the option to “click” it in place on top so that it would be more secure because I kept knocking it off when I’d remove the clothing. \r\n\r\nI steamed things for almost an hour on high and still had some water so this thing can go for a while. And doesn’t take up to much room when storing it in my closet. Just be careful because it gets VERY hot (I know, duh, it’s steam) but I’d find myself absentmindedly holding the garment straight with my left hand and steaming with the right and would get some heat every now and then. \r\n\r\nWhen you turn the steam off and on...it takes a few seconds for it to kick in either way. And sometimes right in the middle of steaming, the steam would stop all of a sudden. I would think I was running out of water but would check the tank and it still had water. Just a minor annoyance to deal with.\r\n\r\nAll it all it’s a pretty good product. Did what it’s suppose to do. This unit is outstanding and so easy to use. Getting out wrinkles has never been so easy. The directions for assembly were well written, clear, and very easy to follow. I was able to put it together in less than 5 minutes and was impressed with the quality of the pieces. Everything is substantial and durable. The water tank is easy to remove, fill, & replace and in less than a minute steam was coming out of the wand and I was ready to go. The attachments are well described in the manual so I'm confident that I'm using the appropriate tool for the task. The overall design has been well executed - everything has its place including a hanger for the electrical cord. The wheel makes it easy to move from room to room.\r\n\r\nMy first project was refreshing the dining room curtains. It was so easy and they looked as if they had just been laundered and pressed without having to take them off the rods. Spring & fall cleaning just became so much easier. Next it was time to tackle laundry. We wear a lot of cotton clothing and I was ready to see just how well the Rowenta would perform. It didn't let me down. I've included a photos of my husband's 2XL cotton shirt to show the before & after. The screen on the unit provides just enough tension to allow me to quickly touch up the shirt including the pocket and collar & do the front and back without removing it from the unit. The bristles on the attachment allow just enough stretch on the fabric to allow the steam to penetrate & the wrinkles to quickly release. All of my laundry was ready for wear in much less time than it would be had I used my traditional iron.\r\n\r\nThe steamer takes up a very small footprint and easily stores next to my dryer fully assembled.
