Didn’t work great for feel good foods mac & cheese bites, they got dark brown on the outside quick but were still frozen inside. In hindsight I probably should have fried those last so the oil was at a lower temp so you may want to be mindful of the order in which you fry foods. Wish there was a button instead of it automatically heating to 350°F, which means you have to unplug and plug it back in to use it. The average preheat time is 12 mins, but a light or indicator to show when it's ready would be helpful. Having at least basic temperature controls such as options for 300°F, 325°F, 350°F, and 375°F would have been a huge plus.\n\nThe included plastic spoon strainer wasn’t particularly useful to me as I don't believe high heat and plastic should mix, and I wasn’t a fan of the plastic lid also. While it fits tightly, I would have preferred a metal cover for durability and safety. My wife actually melted the lid onto the fryer by accident, as she forgot to remove it. Because of the snug fit, I started placing the lid on loosely to avoid struggling with it and potentially splashing hot oil or exposing plastic to high heat near cooking oil. I now just place a small plate on it. \n\nAnother safety concern my wife noticed was that the top edge is part of the heating base, making it dangerously hot to the touch, which she accidentally did. However, one feature I really appreciated was the magnetized plug—it provides an added layer of safety, which gave me peace of mind with a toddler running around while I was cooking. It's also easy to dump the old oil out with the help of the handle and bucket design.
