Do I need a reservation to visit Macy's Santaland?
Yes. Santaland Herald Square is by reservation only. This means that you'll be able to join the line during a preselected time slot—choose one from 30 minutes to 5 days in advance. For example, if you were booking a time for Dec. 2, you would select your reservation starting Nov. 27 by 6AM-7AM EST. Come back to this site (macys.com/social/santa-land) starting November 18 to make your free booking! When making a reservation, please include the total number of adults and children in your group size. Time slots are subject to availability.
Why are reservations required?
Santa's a popular guy, so the wait times to meet him have been quite long in previous years, especially on our busiest days. Our reservation system is designed to minimize this by scheduling visitors to join the line at a time of your choice, allowing for the best possible holiday experience.
Is my reservation the time when I will meet Santa?
No. Your reserved time slot is only when you can join the line. You may have to wait until you reach the front of the line before you meet Santa.
Now that I’ve reserved my spot to join the line, when should I arrive to Santaland?
Santa's day is packed! To help keep him on schedule, please arrive within your time slot. For example, if you booked for 12:30PM–1PM EST, check in with an elf no sooner than 12:30PM and no later than 1PM. If you miss your reservation, Santa might be able to see you at another time, but you'll need to rebook based on availability.
How long should I expect to wait to meet Santa?
Wait times to meet him may differ each day. Please note: the closer we get to Christmas Eve, the longer it may take to reach the front of the line. After crunching some numbers, the elves guesstimate that lines should be shortest during the week, from Monday through Thursday. However, they point out that this is based on overall trends and circumstances can vary.

How much does it cost to visit?
Admission is free! Professional photos are available for purchase, but they’re optional. Packages start at $20.99.
What is the Santa Express Lane?
New this year, customers with a Santa Express Lane pass who visit Macy’s Santaland Friday through Sunday only will bypass all of the Santaland village attractions and head directly to Santa. All customers who choose this option will wait in a separate reservation line before meeting Santa. Time slots are subject to availability.
My child has a specific vision of what Santa looks like based on our cultural background. Can you accommodate that request?
At Macy's, we believe that Santa is all things to all people who find joy in his goodness and kindness. We treasure the memories that families have made and shared with us over the years, and enjoy being able to accommodate requests from near and far. If your child's vision of Santa is African American or you would like your visit in Spanish, please chat with an elf upon arrival to Macy's Santaland and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.
Uh, oh. Something came up—can I change my reservation?
While existing reservations can't be modified online, you won't have to give up your chance to meet Santa! Simply cancel the booking and create a new one.
The reservation system only books up to 10 people.
Are larger groups permitted?
Santa says the more the merrier! To book for 11+ people, including school groups, email email@example.com.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, only service animals are permitted inside Santaland. Please provide all appropriate documentation prior to entering in this case.
