How to Earn and Use Star Money
What Is Star Money?
 

Star Money is a reward available through Macy's Star Rewards program. Every time you earn 1,000 points, you'll receive $10 in Star Money. Once issued, Star Money can be used on most purchases at Macy's, macys.com, and Macy's Backstage. Star Money is valid for 30 days from the date it is issued. 

How Do I Earn Star Money?
 

You'll earn points on eligible purchases made at:

  • Macy's stores
  • macys.com
  • Macy's Backstage

 

Points accumulate in your Star Rewards account and convert to Star Money once you reach 1,000 points. Eligible purchases exclude gift cards, services, and fees. 

 

Want to earn rewards faster? Shop during Star Money Bonus Days to earn additional points on qualifying purchases. 

When Will My Points Be Added?
 

Points are awarded based on how you shop:

  • In Store: After purchase
  • Online Orders: When your order ships
  • Items Shipped From a Store: When the item ships
  • Presale Orders: When the purchase is finalized
  • Furniture and Mattresses: After delivery and acceptance
How Do I Check My Points and Available Star Money?
 

You can view your points balance, available Star Money, and progress toward your next reward at macys.com/mystarrewards. 

 

To view your rewards:

  1. Sign in to your Macy's account or create one.
  2. Add your Star Rewards membership or Macy's Credit Card to your Wallet.
  3. View your points balance, available Star Money, and reward progress. 
How Do I Redeem Star Money?
 

In Store

Available Star Money can be applied at checkout. Bronze members should provide the phone number associated with their Star Rewards membership.

 

Online

  1. Sign in to your Macy's account.
  2. Ensure your Star Rewards membership is linked to your Wallet.
  3. Apply available Star Money during checkout.

  • Email (if subscribed to Macy's emails)
  • A message printed on your store receipt
  • Your Wallet on macys.com

Yes. Star Money expires 30 days after it is issued and will be removed from your Wallet after expiration.

Star Money can be used on most purchases at Macy's, macys.com, and Macy's Backstage, including many top brands, beauty products, and designer merchandise.

Star Money cannot be used to purchase:

  • Gift cards
  • Services
  • Fees

To redeem Star Money on furniture or mattress purchases made through macys.com, please contact Customer Care for assistance.

Points earned on returned merchandise are removed from your balance. If there are not enough points remaining to cover the return, available Star Money may be reduced accordingly.

If an item purchased using Star Money is returned, the Star Money portion may be refunded as a:

  • Macy's Happy Returns Gift Card
  • Merchandise Only Certificate

Before contacting Customer Care, verify that:

  • Your membership is linked to your account
  • Your order has shipped or been delivered
  • The purchase was not returned
  • Your Star Money has not expired
