How to Dispute or Report a Fraudulent Charge

If you notice suspicious or fraudulent activity on your Macy’s Credit Card or Macy’s American Express® Card, please report it as soon as possible—either online or by phone.

 

After you report the activity, please allow 2–3 billing cycles for the investigation to be completed. We will contact you if additional information is needed.

Report Fraud or Dispute a Charge Online

Note: Your Macy’s Credit Card or Macy’s American Express® Card must be linked to your online profile.

  1. Go to My Account and sign in using your email address and password.
  2. Select “Macy’s Credit Card.”
  3. Under Manage Credit Card, choose Account Services.
  4. Select “Dispute a Charge.”
  5. Review your account activity.
  6. Select the unauthorized transaction(s), follow the prompts, and submit your dispute.

 

A status email will be sent once the dispute is complete. Please allow up to 6 weeks for resolution.

Macy’s Gift Card

If you believe your Macy’s Gift Card balance is incorrect, we’re happy to help. Please have the gift card and valid proof of purchase. You can also check your gift card balance online.

  • Call the number on the back of your gift card or 1‑800‑203‑3481 (TTY: 711)
  • Hours: Monday – Sunday, 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM ET
