Managing My Macy’s Online Account

Creating a macys.com account allows you to easily update your personal information, pay your bill, view store events, receive special offers, and more.

 

With a Macy’s online account, you can:

  • Receive emails and text messages about sales, promotions, offers, and events*
  • Securely save shipping information (via Profile) and billing information (via Wallet) for faster checkout
  • Create and manage Lists so friends and family know exactly what you want
  • Receive price alerts when items on your Lists go on sale
  • Manage your subscriptions

 

*To receive email offers, you must be subscribed to promotional emails.

Setting Up My Account

Create a New Account

To create a macys.com account, visit our secure Create Account page and complete the required information.

 

Activate an Account Started In‑Store or by Phone

If you began creating your account in store or by phone:

  1. Look for an email titled “Here’s how to activate your account” from Macy’s or a text message from 38764
  2. Select the link and complete the online form
  3. Once submitted, your account will be activated

 

If you didn’t receive an activation email or text, request a new one on the Create Account page by entering your email address and selecting Activate Here.

You’ll need:

  • Your account number
  • Your name exactly as it appears on your card or statement
  • The card’s security code
  • The last four digits of your Social Security number

 

To add a Macy’s Credit Card or Macy’s American Express® Card:

  1. Sign in and select My Account
  2. Select Add My Card under the Macy’s Credit Card section
  3. Complete the form and select Add Card
  4. Set up your security questions and select Next

  1. Sign in to My Account
  2. Select Macy’s Credit Card from the left navigation
  3. Select Add an Additional Card under the Manage Credit Card section
  4. Enter your information exactly as it appears on your card or statement

Managing My Password and Email Address

Selecting Keep me signed in allows you to stay logged in longer. Only use this option on a personal device.

 

For security reasons, you’ll still be asked to re‑enter your password when you:

  • Update contact or profile information
  • Add or update a shipping address or credit card
  • Manually sign out
  • Clear browser cookies/cache
  • Use a new device or browser
  • Perform activity that appears suspicious

 

How to Turn Off “Keep Me Signed In”

  1. Go to My Account
  2. Under Contact/Security, select Sign Out from All Devices

  1. Select Sign In
  2. Enter your email address and password
  3. Go to My Account > Profile
  4. Under Contact/Security, select Edit next to your password
  5. Enter your current password and new password
  6. Select Save

 

If opted in, you’ll receive an email or text confirming the change.

 

Password requirements:

  • 7–16 characters
  • Special characters allowed except: . , - | \ =
  • No spaces

  1. Select Sign In
  2. Select Forgot Your Password?
  3. Enter the email address associated with your account
  4. Follow the password reset instructions sent to your email

 

The link will expire within a few hours. Once reset, your new password is active immediately.

 

Profile locking is a security feature triggered by suspicious activity or long periods of inactivity.

 

To Unlock Your Profile:

  1. Select the link in the red banner on macys.com
  2. Enter your email address and complete the reCAPTCHA
  3. Open the password reset email and follow the link
  4. Create a new password

 

If your profile was locked due to too many failed attempts, call 1‑800‑289‑6229 (TTY: 711), Monday–Sunday, 8am–10pm ET.

  • Select Sign In
  • Select Follow This Link and follow on‑screen instructions
  • Use the reset link sent to your email or text
  • Create a new password

Try the following:

  • Re‑enter your email address
  • Check spam or junk folders
  • Verify the correct email address is associated with your account

 

Note: Signing up for promotional emails or making a purchase does not always mean you have a Macy’s online profile. For help, call 1‑800‑289‑6229 (TTY: 711).

Managing My Email Address

From a Computer:

  1. Sign in and go to My Account > Profile
  2. Under Contact/Security, select Edit next to your email
  3. Enter your new email and current password
  4. Select Save

 

From the Macy’s App:

  1. Select My Account
  2. Go to Profile
  3. Select Email under Contact/Security
  4. Enter your new email and password
  5. Select Save

If you no longer have access to the email on your profile, you’ll need to create a new account:

  1. Visit the Create Account page
  2. Complete and submit the requested information

 

If your Macy’s Credit Card is linked to your old profile, contact 1‑866‑593‑2543 (TTY: 711).

Managing Email and Text Subscriptions

Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any Macy’s email, or manage preferences online.

 

Online (Computer):

  1. Sign in and select Profile
  2. Go to Preferences > Notifications
  3. Under Email, select Edit
  4. Choose No, thanks! I’m good for now
  5. Select Save

 

From the Macy’s App:

  1. Select My Account
  2. Go to Communication Preferences
  3. Toggle Email Alerts on or off

 

Changes may take 6–8 weeks to fully process.

 

By Phone:

Call 1‑888‑529‑2254 (TTY: 711).

Text one of the following words to:

 

  • 62297 for Promo Alerts
  • 31292 for Security Alerts

You’ll receive a confirmation text. You can also manage text preferences online through Profile > Preferences > Notifications on desktop or Communication Preferences in the app.
