When does my store close?
For Macy's stores, clearance sales will begin in January and will run for approximately 10 weeks. For Macy’s Backstage, clearance sales will begin in January and will run for approximately 4 weeks.
Why is my store closing?
Closing a store is never an easy decision, and it's not one we take lightly. This decision allows us to continue improving the Macy's experience and serve customers in the ways they shop with us today, including online and nearby locations.
How do I find another store?

If I purchased items at a store that’s closing, what’s the return policy?
Unfortunately, merchandise purchased on or after 1/12/2026 cannot be returned or exchanged at a closing store. Merchandise purchased prior to 1/12/2026 can be returned per Macy’s standard return policy at a designated register through 2/10/2026.
What about gift cards?
Gift cards will not be sold at your closing store after 1/11/2026. Gift cards can be redeemed at your closing store until it closes, and you can always redeem gift cards at macys.com.
Can I use a coupon at my closing store?
Coupons will be accepted until 1/11/2026. See a Store Colleague for more information.
What happens to my Star Rewards money?
Star Money cannot be earned or redeemed at your closing store after 1/11/2026, but it can be earned or redeemed for online purchases or purchases made at other Macy’s locations.

When does my store move?
For Macy's Furniture Galleries moving locations, clearance sales will begin in February and will run for approximately 6 weeks.
Why is my store moving?
Moving allows us to continue improving the Macy's experience by bringing our furniture assortment into nearby Macy's stores so customers can shop furniture alongside everything else Macy's offers.
If I placed an order at a store that’s moving, will it still be delivered?
Yes. This doesn't impact recent orders. There will be no changes to furniture and mattress purchases you've already made in the store.
