What Happens Once You Place Your Order?

Here's what you can expect after placing an order on macys.com:

Step 1: Order Confirmation

You’ve placed your order and will receive an order confirmation email shortly after checkout.

  • This email includes your order number
  • If you need to make changes, you may be able to do so within 30 minutes of placing your order

Step 2: Order Processing

Now it’s on us! We’ll locate your items and prepare them for shipment.

  • Items may ship from different warehouses, which can result in multiple packages
  • Your order confirmation email will list the expected ship date for each item

Step 3: Shipping & Payment

Once your items leave our warehouse:

  • Your form of payment is charged
  • You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information
  • Each package will have its own tracking number
  • Selecting a tracking number will take you directly to the carrier’s website

 

Step 4: Track Your Order

You can check your order status online at any time to see the latest updates on your shipment.

When Will I Hear From Macy’s?

    • Sent after checkout
    • Includes your order number (save this for your records)
  • Shipping Confirmation Email(s)

    • Sent each time part of your order ships
    • Includes shipped items, tracking numbers, and remaining items (if any)
    • Orders may arrive in separate packages on different days
  • Backorder Notification (if applicable)

    • Sent if an item becomes temporarily unavailable
    • Includes a new expected ship date (if available)
    • Provides instructions to accept or decline the backorder

 

If Your Item Is on Backorder

 

If your merchandise is backordered by the manufacturer or vendor:

  • We’ll email you with updated shipping information
  • If:
    • The new ship date is more than 30 days out, or
    • The ship date changes more than twice,
      you’ll receive instructions on how to accept or decline the item

 

Important: Federal Trade Commission rules require that you contact us within 30 days of the original ship date to avoid automatic cancellation.
