Macy’s New Account Discount

When you open and are immediately approved for a Macy’s Card or Macy’s American Express® Card, you’ll receive a 20% new account discount on qualifying purchases.

You can save 20% off, up to a maximum of $100 in total savings.

The discount is valid only on the day you’re approved for your new Macy’s Card or Macy’s American Express® Card.

Purchases must be made using your new Macy’s card .The discount can be used:

  • In store
  • At macys.com

No. The discount will not appear during checkout or on your receipt. It will show later on your Macy’s billing statement.

The discount does not apply to:

  • Services
  • Certain licensed departments
  • Macy’s Gift Cards

Online exclusions apply, and store exclusions may vary. A store colleague can provide specific details.

No. The discount cannot be combined with other discount offers, except where specifically indicated.

No. The discount may not be applied retroactively to purchases made before approval.

Only applicants who receive immediate approval qualify. Applicants whose accounts require additional processing will not receive the discount.

Applicants who qualify for immediate approval are eligible to receive a New Account Discount of 20% off eligible merchandise on the day you're approved, up to a total savings of $100. From time to time, we may offer a promotional discount that varies in discount percentage, savings limit and duration from the Standard Discount (the "Promotional Discount"). The availability of each Promotional Discount offer along with the discount percentage, savings limit and duration will be disclosed at the time of each Promotional Discount offer is made. When a Promotional Discount is offered you will receive the Promotional Discount and not the Standard Discount. The New Account Discount may not be applied to previous purchases. The New Account Discount does not apply to services, certain licensed departments or Gift Cards. Applicants must qualify for immediate approval to receive the New Account Discount; applicants requiring further processing will not receive the New Account Discount. The New Account Discount does not apply to upgrades of a Macy's Card to a Macy's American Express Card. Employees of Macy's and affiliates are not eligible. For your convenience and record keeping, the New Account Discount will appear on your statement. It will not appear on your register receipts or during checkout on macys.com.
