Reseller Policy

What is Macy's Reseller Policy?

Macy's sells merchandise for personal use only. Purchases intended for resale or redistribution are not permitted.

Why does Macy's have a reseller policy?

This policy helps:

  • Ensure product availability for all customers
  • Comply with agreements between Macy’s and its vendors

How does Macy's identify reseller activity?

Accounts may be identified as reseller or reshipper accounts based on purchasing patterns, including:

  • Purchasing quantities that exceed item limits
  • Repeated purchases of the same item in large quantities
  • Shipping large volumes of merchandise to the same address
  • Other purchase activity that suggests merchandise is being purchased for resale

Note: Macy's reviews multiple factors when evaluating account activity.

What happens if reseller activity is identified?

If Macy's determines that an account or order may be associated with resale activity, Macy's may:

  • Cancel current orders
  • Limit purchases
  • Refuse future orders
  • Refuse shipments to specific individuals or addresses

If an order is canceled, any payment collected for the canceled merchandise will be refunded.

My order was canceled. What should I do?

If your order was canceled because it was identified as potential reseller activity, any payment collected for the canceled merchandise will be refunded. If you believe your order was canceled in error, please contact Customer Care.
