What is the Macy's App In-Store Mode?

Macy’s In‑Store Mode is a feature within the Macy’s mobile app designed to help you while shopping in a Macy’s store—or preparing for a store visit. It brings helpful tools and store‑specific information together in one convenient dashboard.

 

In‑Store Mode features include:

  • Store location information
  • Product scanning and purchasing capabilities
  • Personalized in‑store offers and messages
  • Pickup order access and instructions

How do I access In‑Store Mode?

 

You can access In‑Store Mode in several ways using the Macy’s mobile app.

 

From the global menu:

  1. Open the app and select Stores.
  2. Tap In‑Store Mode.
  3. If location services are enabled and the app detects you’re in a Macy’s store, the dashboard for that store will load automatically.
  4. If not, you can search for a store by city, state, or ZIP code.

 

From the home screen:

If the app detects that you’re in a Macy’s store (with location services enabled), you’ll see a link to In‑Store Mode in the greeting at the top of the home screen.

 

From the Store Details page:

If you access store information outside of In‑Store Mode, you’ll see a link that takes you directly to the In‑Store Mode dashboard for that location.

In‑Store Mode features

Tap the greeting at the top of the dashboard to view store details, including:

  • Address and phone number
  • Store hours
  • Upcoming events
  • Available store features

Quick‑access shortcuts appear across the dashboard, including:

  1. Store Hours – Opens the store details page
  2. Wi‑Fi – Provides instructions for connecting to in‑store Wi‑Fi
  3. Store Directory – Displays departments by category and floor
  4. Weekly Catalog – Shows local catalogs and promotions

View offers that can be redeemed in store or through Scan & Send purchases. Signed‑in customers will also see eligible offers from their Wallet. Tapping the final tile in the carousel opens the full list of offers.

Scan a merchandise tag to view:

  • Price and availability
  • Product details and reviews
  • Related recommendations

 

If an item isn’t available in store—or if you’d prefer to skip the checkout line—you can purchase it directly in the app and have it shipped to your home.

Swipe through messages from Macy’s within the dashboard. Tapping the final message tile opens your full message inbox, which can also be accessed from the message icon in the top‑right corner of the app.

See the status of your pickup orders in one place. When your order is ready, tap it to view pickup instructions and generate your pickup barcode while you’re in the store.
