How do I purchase a Macy’s e‑gift card?
 

To purchase an e‑gift card online:

 

  1. Visit macys.com/giftcards
  2. Choose a card design
  3. Select a dollar amount or preset value
  4. Enter the recipient’s email address
  5. Add the recipient’s name, your name, and a gift message
  6. Select Add to Bag to complete your purchase

 

How do I purchase a physical gift card?

 

  • Available in any Macy’s store or online at macys.com/giftcards
  • Reloading gift cards is available in store only
  • Gift card and e‑gift card purchases do not apply toward promotional offers

Shipping & Delivery

  • Delivered by email within 24 hours of purchase
  • If the recipient does not receive the e‑gift card:
    • Confirm the email address is correct
    • Ask them to check their junk or spam folder

  • Free shipping via U.S. Postal Service (USPS)
  • Shipped in plain, unmarked envelopes for security
  • Cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses
  • Delivery typically takes 7–10 mailing days
  • Tracking is only available if Premium Shipping (UPS Next Day) is selected

How do I redeem a gift card online?

 

  1. At checkout, select Apply Gift Cards
  2. Enter the 15‑digit gift card number
  3. Enter the 3‑ or 4‑digit CID (found under the scratch‑off panel or in the e‑gift email)
  4. Select Apply Gift Card

 

Redeemed gift cards appear as “EGC” in your order confirmation email.

 

Important reminders:

  • Gift cards must be applied before entering a credit card
  • You can apply up to five (5) gift cards per online order
  • To redeem more than five gift cards, contact Customer Care

Present your physical gift card or e‑gift card to a Macy’s colleague at checkout.


 

Checking Your Gift Card Balance

 

Your remaining balance can also be viewed during checkout on macys.com.

 

Troubleshooting tips:

  • Clear cookies and cache if CAPTCHA verification fails
  • After two unsuccessful attempts, the card may be placed on a 24–48 hour security hold

  • Physical gift cards: Scan at a price checker terminal (CID must be scratched off)
  • E‑gift cards: Print the card and scan the barcode

E‑Gift Cards vs. Physical Gift Cards
