Replacement for a Router/Modem Combo

I was having problems setting up a static IP (for a desktop NAS server) with my older (Non-ASUS) router/modem and understood it was better to set it to Bridge mode to a new dedicated router. I chose the RT-BE86U based on features, good reviews, a modern look, and a fair price. Not only has it worked as intended, but the software and configurable options far exceed my expectations. I have not only benefited from its added capabilities, but learned more about optimal security and performance options.
