Terrible customer service

These shoes were on sale online but I wanted to go into the store to try on. The store said they would honor their ~own~ sale price but only if I signed up for the loyalty program. I had to buy them online for pickup at the store I was already in, go for a walk for an hour and come back. Just needlessly difficult. Felt like a question of meeting quotas for customer data. Needless to say, it has guaranteed that I won’t be a loyal customer.
