Unflattering fit, looks weird around hips

Very strange A line on this dress, unnecessarily puffs out around hips and is very unflattering. Makes you look wider around your hips the way it puffs out. It's hard to explain, but it looks bad. I bought a size small, no issues with sizing, but the design is very unflattering.
