Solid Weight, Smart Design—Mostly One-Handed

The single-handed tearing mechanism works well—from a full roll down to the last sheet. As the roll shrinks, the clamp loosens slightly, but you can stabilize it by holding both the clamp and top hook to keep the paper taut. While this workaround requires two hands, it prevents wet-hand contact with the paper, which is a fair trade-off. The weighted base includes a non-slip felt pad—unclear whether synthetic or woven—but it doesn’t touch the paper, so no complaints there. Overall, there is no plastic parts and the build is sturdy, balanced, and thoughtfully engineered.

Cool and Heavy

Nice and heavy base to hold towels -- one problem is that bigger rolls (like a lot these days) don;t really fit well at first until you use a few towels.

Frustrating

Beautiful but irritating trying to break off the paper towel. It ends up tearing the paper towel if I don’t use 2 hands to pull out the piece that keeps it in place. I’ve had this one for a year but fed up and getting a different one.
