Great Dutch oven!
I know the brand has a great reputation but I have always purchased Le Creuset so this was my first time purchasing Staub. I'm very impressed with the Cocotte and I was concerned it might not be big enough for my sourdough boules but it's perfect. The instruction booklet says not to heat empty which you need to do for sourdough to preheat the pot so I added a drop of coconut oil which seemed to work fine. Especially considering how discounted this was versus most French made Dutch ovens, I think it's perfect and I'm very happy with my purchase.

First Staub
I have had multiple Dutch overnight, none of them lasted. My first Staub, it is quickly becoming a work horse in my kitchen, use it for everything including baking bread. Well worth the price.

Excellent Purchase!
I purchased this 4 quart Dutch oven for general cooking and to bake my sourdough boules. I was a little concerned it might be too small, but it's been perfect! I have purchased only Le Creuset in the past, but this seems to be comparable and very high-quality. The directions did say not to heat the vessel without anything inside, which is not possible with sourdough baking as you need to preheat the vessel before you put the dough in, so I just added a couple of drops of coconut oil while the vessel was heating up and that seemed to do the trick. Really love it so far!
