Cut is too trim to be classic

The size chart for product and medium said 46” which is generally a large when you deduct 4” to make it a 42. So I bought a medium as sleeve and neck of large would be too big. The shirt is cut trim and is kind of unforgiving. I won’t return it as I can wear it without a t shirt for a more comfortable fit, but this is far from a classic cut.
