Simple Truths with Value
While I appreciate the concepts introduced in this book, they almost seemed too simple for my tastes. I did take away a few pointers and I found some value in it while reading, but I’m afraid I may have missed the deeper lessons I was supposed to learn. The Aftermath 🌷: I may go back and give this a re-read to see if it resonates differently a second time around. Even though it wasn't a mind-blowing experience for me, I’d still recommend you give it a shot to see if these agreements click for you.

It was okay. Not worth recommending IMO
After seeing this book appear in my social media feed dozens of times, I thought I would give it a chance thinking it could provide me with meaningful insight; something that would stick with me long after I finished the book. This was not the case. It was mostly rambling. It wasn’t deep like everyone made it seem. It was a very quick read, but I ended up feeling like I wasted time reading something with little to no substance. It might be a life changing book for those who lack the capacity of reaching deeper thoughts without being told how. No offense. Lol.

Words of Wisdom and understanding of communication
This is my very favorite book. Every word is so true and it is so enlightening as to how we all think, communicate and perceive what is said! I think everyone should read this slowly and let what is says sink in. A patient that is a professor whom I have great respect for also agrees that it is amazing and would benefit everyone to read it and have a better understanding of communication and perception.

Easy and meaningful read
I got through the entire book just fine until the very end when I read the last prayer, I cried lbs. I feel after reading the new agreements and where the current agreements stem from, that prayer made you feel like it’s time. It’s time to start enjoying life and being oh so appreciative of it.

The Agreements are for You, not Others
I am very late to Don Miguel Ruiz's THE FOUR AGREEMENTS phenomena. I knew about the book from all the talk shows and online buzz. This is a quick read, but a meaningful one. The four agreements are basic: Be impeccable with your word, don't take things personally, don't assume, and do your best. What I found with these agreements and what you should get out them when you accomplish each one is that these agreements are for you and not anyone else. As a matter of fact, you should do these agreements to make yourself happy and not to please anyone else. This is a great message for all. This is a keeper book that I will reread when I need a boost. #CillasBookManiacs

Powerful teachings!
I was given this book a few years ago and am now rereading it, and really trying to absorb these teachings. Each one of these agreements is significant in itself, and if adopted, I believe will create powerful shifts in how one interacts with others and how one can center themselves in any interactions with loved ones or complete strangers alike. Such a small book and so powerful.

Life's Blueprint
The Four Agreements" by Miguel Ruiz has become a staple in my library. This book is among the few transformational books that have profoundly impacted me, alongside The Catholic Bible and The Art of Happiness. Without giving away any spoilers, I can only say that this book delves into the mental chaos that holds us back from truly living. The introduction may be challenging, but it's worth pushing through and setting aside any judgments. The concepts presented are not groundbreaking or revolutionary. They are practical, evident, and could even be considered common sense. However, they can be easily overlooked as we get caught up in the busyness of life. That's why reading this book brings these ideas to the forefront, where they are much needed. I highly recommend taking action, reading this book, and becoming the main protagonist of your own life!

A guidepost for almost 20 years
The Four Agreements has been a guidepost for the last two decades. If only I’d read it a couple of years earlier! Oh, the grief I could have avoided! It’s the only book I’ve ever re-read back-to-back cover-to-cover, and I had to read the “Don’t take anything personally” chapter a third time before I finally got it! I just made The Four Agreements required reading for one of my teams at work, and will be requiring it unit-wide in 2026.
