Protects Walnut Island’s Open Bottom Shelf

Love these magnetic trivets! We recently renovated our kitchen with a walnut island that has an open, slatted (also light stained walnet) shelf at the bottom to store our heavy Le Creuset pots and pan. For months, I’ve used spare placemats to protect the surface from heavy scratches. The mats slide around and collect extra dust. One day, I realized if I got a magnetic trivet for each pot/pan, it would be hidden, not mar the wood, and stay put when moving the pots to our soapstone counters (which also are prone to scratches). FANTASTIC solution! Those babies stay put and make moving them around so much easier. I do have to dust off the pot lids and some interiors a bit, but that was required regardless of what was underneath them. We simply don’t’ have drawer space for our collection, and I like seeing the multiple colors under the island. It was an expensive, bulk purchase (I already had one and gave several away to our kids the prior Xmas), but it’s made me very happy, and I no longer worry about the shelf getting too beat up. I have no issues remembering to take it off before popping it into an oven or using on our (induction) cooktop. With magnets inside, perhaps they would get hot on our induction burners, but I’m not risking damage to either by testing it.
